I disagree completely.

You guys with your knobs at noon are complete posers. The knobs
at midnight are where its REALLY at!

LOL!!! My AM and PM settings on my amp are always screwed up! Doesn't matter - I could be loud at any time!!! LOL!

Knobs at B3 M6 T4-5 Numbrs on the dials (fender,Mesa, etc.)I start there. Never did the noon thingy.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. Knobs at 12 is good! It's when the user says he can't get enough high end and his treble knob is at 2 and the bright is off and the presence is off. It's this kind of where my knobs on my Marshall don't work on my Fender user is what drives me crazy!

I had you at "hello". And that completed me.

Right. You can't expect the same settings on different amps to work. And from a design standpoint, if your amp sounds good to most people with the knobs at 12:00, any customer looking for their tone will have more headroom to find it.

Jeff - Pm's sent.

That's the key. All amps should sound good at noon settings. But they won't sound the same.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...now wait a minute here. I'm really confused now; I thought you turned them to the right for fast and to the left for slow.

Does daylight savings throw all your knobs off by one number?
:dunno:

Inquiring minds want to know.... :D

Yes, but if you turn it all the way to the right, it turns to slo mo!

(I never thought I'd get to use a reference from L.A. Story on a gear-related post!)

Orren

PS—I always ship insured, for the exact reason Jeff sadly points out! I've had that happen to a guitar I sold years ago, luckily it was insured and UPS made good on it.
