Those are two big things to learn, though. Nothing wrong with your amp and yeah, highs are directional, so if they are aiming at your knees that will sound darker than if they are right at your face. Sometimes it is worth it to make the ffort and check things out. I just brought my Les Paul in to a guy. iw anted him to look at the the bridge saddles- looked like the strings had been all over the place. I figured he was gonna have to keep the thing, maybe put a TonePros locking one on. Nope- He said its minor, strings slip sometimes, he filed them a bit, and he said the TonePros requires drilling into the body, which neither he nor I wanted to do. Worth the hour to bring it in, I think!
