While I'm not really into this particular brand of metal, I find it interesting to watch the modern djent/thall/core guys do their thing. Guys like Nick Broomhall and Buster Odeholm use some really interesting techniques. Lots of aggressive edits and weird mixing techniques, and they're fast at it too. It helps keep me current on some of the latest and greatest methods being used. Personally I prefer a much more raw and natural sound (mainly because that's what I grew up listening to), whereas this sounds synthetic and almost AI generated. But I still respect their craft and I can't deny that the music and mix are impactful.

It's probably better choice to sit at a computer and do Copy/Paste umm, metal, than to do drugs

Who's the playing the drums for songs like this? Some type of plugin?

EDIT: Oh shit, he's doing it on his keyboard.

EDIT2: personally I find this whole process fascinating

please join me and my imaginary AI deathcore band in hating everything from my parent’s basement until it’s no longer psychologically sustainable.

Might as well be Ai at this point.

I understand sometimes you need editing but damn bruh, play one riff all the way through...please?

Lets go back to the 70s and tape.

I do see the value in recording (draft/demo/rough) this way, in order to lay down the foundation and to get your "ducks in a row".

But then you bet your bippy ass you better be able to play and record the whole thing through for your final!

Anyway, before wee wee boy interjected, this is my tape rig. I have collected some high quality tapes. It just hits that 90s sound.

I can respect it. But it just isn't for me. I'm only 7 or 8 years older than this guy, not a mountain of time.... and to me.... I dunno... I want to be able to play a thing, record it, absolutely fucking smash the take, know that I achieved a great thing, commit it, and move onto the next section or song. I don't really want to sit there editing things to death because I can't play it as tight as I want, or to fit some perceived notion or value.

For me, the writing, the recording, the track names, the album artwork, the releasing... it isn't just content. It is my life, an artform, a calling. I want to express something.

A lot of these guys just churn stuff out to get a subscriber base on their various platforms, and rake in some cash. Cool. But that aint me.

Truly... what are these riffs actually communicating to anyone???

Nerdcore. Youtube bros cosplaying as metal musicians on their computers regurgitating the same djenty instantly forgettable crap riffs and generic tones.
Just put the fries in the bag and go back to painting WoW figurines and trading pokemon cards and maybe learn to change a car tyre.

edit: sorry, I'm feeling cranky today and venting. The edgiest thing about these kids is that they D.A.R.E to drink a full can of Monster after 3pm and wear their hat's backwards 24/7
