Another vote for kt77's. They give you the bite of the 34s and the bottom of the 6l6s.

every recto clip i hear with anything other than 6L6's just kind of takes away all the things i like about rectos, im not really looking for super tight low end and upper mids when i plug into a recto, i have plenty other amps that do that :dunno:

EL34 run much hotter in Rectos, almost too hot for the silicon/bold setting (Mesa recommends tube rectification with EL34). So you are not only hearing the difference between the tube type, but also different bias settings.
For 2 channels I like 6L6 that run a bit hotter (code grey). For a 3 channel 2000-2009 I maybe would try EL34 as the amp has extended lows and highs. For the MW again 6L6.

In the C and both F Triples, 34s in bold/diode measured around 38 ma. Not too hot...but far from the 25ma in spongy/tube.

Have to measure mine again, but as far as I remember I was not overly happy with what I read last time. Color code was green

Not a huge difference to my ears when I compared. But I preferred EL34, so that’s what I keep in my 2-channel Rev.G. I’m also set to tube rectifier.
