Has anyone ever compared these cabs directly? Aside from the UK vs China V30's. Wondering which would pair better with a Marshall style amp? I would likely be pulling one of the V30's in favor of something else.

If that’s your options I would pick the Friedman over the Mesa.

I’ve never found the Mesa stuff to work well with the Marshall style amps. I’ve had trads, OS’s, and the 212. Too middy almost harsh, in my experience. Btw these are great cabs they just didn’t work with the Marshall style frequencies.

I’ve also owned the Butterslax 212/215c a Friedman 212 and still have a Friedman 412. The Friedman 212 works very well with the Marshall amps. Just doesn’t have the low end of a 412, but it still sounds very good.

That’s what I was thinking. I have plenty of 4x12’s. Just need something more portable. I am one of the few who do not care for the Bogner OS. It’s almost “too” big/deep sounding and didn’t punch very well IMO.

I had a Mesa Traditional 4x12 that came with Greenbacks installed. I was mad, because the guy said "Original Celestions", but it was still worth it. Mesa cabs do Marshall justice with Greenbacks. It's the V30s that don't do Marshall's well, due to overlapping prominent frequencies.

My buddy had an OS Recto cab with GBs too and he's all British amps (Marshall and Orange). Same result.

I actually have both of these cabinets currently and they are my only two cabs. My Friedman has a V30 and a H75 Creamback. I vastly prefer it with my Marshall based heads (Friedman custom, 1977 Marshall JMP GZ MOAB+).

Mesa is deeper cab and sound great and bigger than Friedman. Friedman with brand new V30 was quite a disapointing cab for a price. It didn't have castors and need to sit on the floor to have bass response

I’ve not played the Friedman to compare.

I have a Mesa vertical 2x12. While I love it, it’s a little finicky as to what amps it plays well with in my opinion. Compared to my splawn & orange v30 2x12’s, where I can just plug in anything and they’re ready to rock.

The Mesa does pair phenomenally with my mark v 25.
