Recto Reissue - Re-EQ'd Dinesh Clip

The most telling part about all of this is that when I read the thread title I instantly knew what it meant, and why is was done.

Ribbon mics are fine for combination mic setups, but as a standalone for a heavy tone that's the dumbest thing on earth

They're generally used as "Flavor" added to a 57, 421, I5, or maybe an sm7

The ribbon mic by itself explains how weird it sounds, certainly
All of this is so wrong on so many levels.

You record alot of metal tones with standalone rbbon mics then?

Please, show me how wrong I am with clips of glorious single ribbon miced metal tones, because I've literally never heard them before

And I've never heard them before because it's generally regarded as a stupid idea by the vast majority of engineers I've worked with or talked to about guitar micing

Please educate me

Yeah, great, explain

People generally use them in combination with common dynamic mics, and that's the only way I've literally ever heard of them used for heavy tones

If you have some clips or interviews or literally anything except saying "you're wrong" like a dipshit, please share your expertise so we might learn
