If you rewire it for 16 ohm, then that's what would be your "mono" input. The "8 Ohm" on your jack plate would now be incorrect, so you gotta remember that it's now 16 ohm, or mark it up to say "16 Ohm Mono". And yes, keep your amp on 16 Ohm.

You would still have the 8 Ohm stereo operation. Just one speaker each operating at 8 Ohm.

that seems the most logical to me i guess. I am gonna see around here who can re-wire it and how much it would be.

last night i used the eggie on 8ohms and plugged into all 3 speakers (into the mono input). that wont mess up the eggie at all will it? or should i just not use the marshall until its rewired.

It's super easy to do it yourself...just search on how to wire speakers in parallel...Should take you less than 10 minutes to make a couple of leads, unscrew the back, wire the speakers, then put it back together...

Essentially, connect positive terminal from jack to positive terminal from left speaker. Then connect negative terminal from jack to negative terminal on left speaker. Then with a separate wire, connect a lead from the left speaker positive terminal(each speaker has two positive and two negative terminals, use the ones that are unused respectively) to the right speaker positive terminal. Then with a second lead, connect the negative terminal from the left speaker to the negative terminal of the right speaker.

I think he's going to need to wire it in series. It's parallel now at 4 ohm (2 8 ohm speakers).

It is very easy. Take off the back and check it out. Just flip a few wires and you are good.

For series wiring, connect the + from the jack to the + of 1 speaker...Connect the - from the jack to the - of the OTHER speaker...Then connect 1 wire from the open + and- of each speaker together...2, 8 ohms in series= 16 ohms
