I had a 2203x Reissue when they first came out. Early 2000's. I had the 20 watt SC20 a few years back. . Always wanted another 2203x. Such a simple amp. Any OD in front with a delay in the loop and you're good to go. It's loud as hell. Gonna see how it plays thru the Tone King Ironman II attenuator.
Robin Trower used the 2203x years ago and I thought it was one of his best tones.

Beautiful.

Try to hang on to this gem. I try to choose carefully, and hang on to these timeless old amps.

When you haven't played it in a couple of years, indeed it feels like NAD.

Congrats !!!

You simply cannot go wrong with those, with a boost up front. Great amps.

Nice if you love it that's all that matters I have not heard or owned one but like I said if you're happy cheers to you !

Congrats on the new amp. I just went back to an 800 too. ( 4104 which is a 2204 in a combo). Love it. After all the " high end" stuff, came back to a simple single channel 800. Tough to beat! Enjoy!

Nice! Was the SC20 lacking for you btw? Aside from the obvious girth/heft in tone that one can expect, I mean?

I'm still on the fence of adding an SC20 to the studio, but at the same time, it's probably more the idea to have 'a JCM800' in the studio than whether I'd actually like to have a 1 channel amp basically.

It really wasn't lacking anything, unless you put it next to the 100 watter to compare. I don't even know why I got rid of it. Likely for $$ towards something else.
I ran the SC20 the way I run the 100 watter. Preamp volume not full up, but 3/4 or a bit less......ran that way the effect of the bright cap is still there and with a Strat it's a sound I like.
This was my SC20 straight in w/ a Vibe, then a Tube Screamer side of the Duelist. Sounded pretty big. I think it was the cab.

killer dude. 3rd stone at the end was glorious. I was expecting you to grab that prs hendrix amp.

no shit!!! lol....so does it do what it's supposed to do? it's basically a jumped plexi hardwired right?
Yes, it's like a jumpered Plexi. It's the amp Marshall should have made. I got to hand it to PRS. They examined the real-deal Hendrix amp and recreated it.
It's more versatile than a regular 1959 100 watt Marshall. It has a 3-way Bright Switch. That alone, you can tailer the amp to whatever pedals you're using. It also has a Mid Switch, which bumps the high-mids. The tone controls are very responsive, moreso than a standard 1959. I'd like to get the 4x12 as well.
