Rev.2 Trouble in Paradise... (PROJECT NEAR COMPLETION!!)

Tubes came in yesterday.

So today is play day. KT77s, EHX6550s, 5751, 12AX7, EiYugo, LPS, Tung Sol, TAD, Svetlana, Jan-GE, biasing levels, 2 different reference cabs (P50eDeliverance, UberKab).

Les Paul '57 Black Beauty triple-pup loaded with calibrated Emeralds.
Les Paul '57 Goldtop loaded with Mules.
Vovox cables.
Will see how these come through on my iPhone, I'm not prepared to set up mics today. But I want it to be representational - this is why I can't stand "clips" that are on the fly. I like proper mic'ing but I have 3 hours before I have to be at work.

Alright!!!!

3 different cabs used, but ultimately, the UberKab is my reference cab of choice for my ears and shootout.

Preamps are:
V1 - Svetlana 12AX7 and/or Gold Lion ECC83 (former is smooth and balanced, latter is brighter and grainier/gainier)
V2 - JJ 5751
V3 - Svetlana 12AX7
V4 - Svetlana 12AX7
V5 - Tung Sol 12AX7
V6 - LPS balanced

PT: EHX6550 (powerful, clear, great range, not dark, punishingly loud, balanced)
PT: JJ KT77 (smooth, warm, gainier, not as punchy but very rich and sweet)

So it's between V1s preamp bottle and the power section lineup of 6550s or KT77s. I'm narrowing the scope - today I ran it with the Svet in V1 and 6550s and it's mind blowing. Totally usable gain now on Ch.2 from mad to maniac thanks to the 5751, but still open and organic - not all compressed. Tomorrow will be KT77 judgment day. The Gold Lion - in my opinion a rebranded Sovtek LPS for all things I can see through the glass - gives it a touch more gain and maybe a little brighter, but the smoothness of the Svetlanas is unbeatable - they're in ALL my amps now).

Verdict and CLIPS!!!!!! soon incoming. iPhone at best but whatever, everyone loves staring at grille cloth and listening to totally low-fi shit just to pretend like they know what the fuck is up, right?? Reza - wanna swing up to Whistler and lend a hand in the recording department :D

(Whatever, music room is 80% complete, but I just can't bring myself to the "box of cables & connectors".... gawd that box is daunting...)
 
Ventura, you live in whistler? Heading up there with my band mate in a couple weeks to shred bikes:)
