So, I ordered an amp that UPS lost, just over 2 weeks ago.. Reverb told the seller to wait 14 days to file a claim, yet UPS states you can start an investigation as early as 24 hours after the expected delivery date passes, which I did. Actually I waited 3 days..

So, UPS showed up to deliver on the initial delivery date, then gave me a funny look and said they couldn't find the package. Was rescheduled next day, no show. Then, no tracking was available. I waited, then started an investigation with UPS because Reverb did nothing..

Finally I get an email from Reverb 2 days later that said they'd "ESCALATE" the issue, and would be in touch in 5 business days.. That's escalating?

I get tired of their slow walking, and gaslighting, and go to PayPal. Gee, got an email same day. And 2 days later, I'm refunded - but get this... This asshole emails me this AM to tell me a refund was issued, then goes on with an attitude about contacting them first with any issues, and not to involve Paypal, or it will "Negatively affect your account status" WTF does that mean? You can't call these people, you get a voicemail telling you to go read FAQ's on the website. They take days to respond to emails, ask questions, then take a week to get back, etc.. WTF is one to do when Customer Service is non existent?Fuck these assholes. As soon as I sell a couple listings, I'm pulling the plug. Fucking cockroaches.

I remember when we were all benefitting from reverb with no fees and shit. But i got burned on one deal where i returned a bad amp that i had communicated with seller on. He had been way less than honest about history of it.

Without contacting me to hear my side of story, reverb decided to only offer partial refund after i had sent it. It was strange to only go off of one person's story. That is when i stopped doing deals on reverb

The folks at reverb support millions of users and even more transactions, on a global scale, daily. It's not like they have someone working full time to take care of napalmdeath's issue.

Totally understand your perspective, and agree it's definitely possible to move faster than they do. But youre in the line, just like the DMV, there are opens desks someone could be helping you, but there aren't enough people to do so and no one is prioritizing you over everyone in line in front of you.

I hate Shipping and I don’t sell often because of that nowadays. That said. Sweetwater gear exchange has done me really well.

They also have discounted insurance and discounted FedEx rates

I work for a company way bigger than them. Customer Service is a choice, and a priority where I work. I'm not asking for special treatment, but a week to answer an email is ridiculous.

If you ship 3rd party aka Pirate ship/Ship nerd they support any shipping claim MUCH better than filing a claim with UPS or Fedex. You're pretty well screwed if you ship UPS and damage occurs; they'll deny no matter what. Vs Pirate Ship where they take the time to actually investigate vs Deny deny deny policy of UPS.

Reverb labels are 3rd party.

They used to be good until Etsy fucked it all up.

5 days is a long time, but I sorta get it. They're taking into consideration that people selling gear (especially people selling gear and not random stuff on Mercari and FB Marketplace) might have other stuff going on like gigs, tours, etc.
It's been a while since I've done a PayPal dispute, but I believe each party gets 3 days as well.

You know how long discogs sellers have to ship an order? 7 fucking days lol.

A lot of the gripe in the OP should be aimed at UPS and the seller. Reverb is annoying, but it sounds like every other the aspect of your deal is worse than Reverb's involvement.

I hate shipping. Reverb has been okay for the most part but everything has luckily been fine for me. Except a dumbass who sent me a line 6 hd500 in a paper box with zero padding once….

Do they legit research the claim, if there's a shipping claim? UPS just flat denies every claim the comes their way. Pirate Ship has paid out claims without fighting them(as long as it's legit, of course.)

That sucks, what a PITA.

I guess I'm fortunate. I've been on Reverb since 2015, several hundred transactions as both buyer and seller, and nothing really to gripe about. I've had a handful of experiences with shady buyers, and Reverb has always sided with me. I had a seller send me an amp with an undisclosed OT issue and who then went MIA, and Reverb sent me a label to ship it to them, and refunded me. Just those sorts of things. No real issues though, and I've never lost a dispute from either side.

Most sellers on Reverb are half retarded
Wasn't the seller's fault at all. In fact, I felt bad for him, they were

Not sure. People pay for shipping protection when/if a problem arises, you're covered. Supposedly...

I feel ya, I've just never considered them a customer service company. They expect buyers and sellers to do and handle business between themselves, so they can skim from the transactions. They arbitrate disputes on transactions but only so much so that it keeps transactions flowing to keep the skim going. Absolutely right it's a choice to provide customer service, but you ain't buying from reverb, so whose customer are you? Who should be providing that service?

Only playing devils advocate here, I haven't used the verb much in recent years.

FB marketplace is still worse. I've been trying to sell a keyboard and monitors for a few weeks with the words "price is firm" in the ad.
i've got nothing but local rappers whos profile shows them covered in jewlery, trying to knock a hundy off my price. Most of which can't string a sentence together and want to use cash app when i said "cash only". Or, its a pastor from a church who thinks i should cut them a deal because they're a church. i usually tell them that if you're from a church its a few hundred more, and to reach that diamond ringed up hand into the collection basket and get the full amount i'm asking for. Either that or trade me some nice hardwood pews and a few thousand communion waffers, UNBLESSED ONLY!
Can you believe that? some hustler in a pimp suit gets a shit ball building in the hood and calls it a church (i live in detroit, I'VE SEEN THIS SHIT!! :ROFLMAO:), gets tax exempt status, and wants me to sell them my shit CHEAPER? how insulting.

Ignore it.

I've actually taken a few things to the local GC to sell or trade. Reverb and CL have gotten that bad, I've had a few cabs/amps damaged by UPS, and FedEx never knows when they're going to deliver something, and worse when it's signature required.

Honestly, by the time I factor in the risk, shipping costs, fees, and that GC has to have a profit margin, the offers from GC haven't been that bad.

I gave up on marketplace, CL, Reverb and ebay over two years ago. Everything has gone to GC.
