This pedal is one of the few dirt pedals that has impressed me right off the bat. First, this pedal is sort of like a cross between a distortion or overdrive pedal, and a fuzz. Imagine a silicon fuzz face crossed with an overdrive pedal. Its got that thick top end like a fuzz, but it stays a little tighter in the low end and it has tons of clarity and articulation. But its got the warm chewiness that makes germanium fuzz faces so awesome, yet its silicon. It has a ton of gain too.

My Superbass is at the band house, so I havent given it the true "test" but I think its going to work extremely well with it. Ive been using it through my '59 Tweed Champ clone, and I know how all my fuzzes sound through that amp, and the 200lbs sounds better, IMO. One thing about this pedal, it doesnt really do the "ready to explode" sound. Its just too smooth and articulate. But, it will give you tons of sustain, and I was even getting a bit of controlled feedback, at low volumes.

So this clip is a 57 about two inches away from the 1x8 speaker grill into an Mbox 2 Pro into Garageband. I added just hint of slap back with one of Garageband's stock effects. I used my purple strat with Harmonic Design pups. All knobs on the pedal were at 11 o'clock. Champ volume was 11 o'clock as well. Id call it "TV volume."

Sounds good  Does it deliver the 200lb EJ tone better than your other fuzzes? I want to buy one at some point at thats what I'm after

That thing sounds fucking sick!!! WOW!...I want one!

Update:

0 - .29: 2nd position, guit vol rolled back.

.30 - .47: 2nd pos, guit vol full.

.49 - 1:29: bridge, guit vol full.

1:30 - 1:44: neck, guit vol full.

1:46: - end: 4th pos, guit vol rolled back.

I had the gain on the pedal pretty low (11 o'clock), and it has a lot more on tap. I was keeping it low so I could get it to roll off gain well. I was actually playing it with more gain but when I was listening back to it recorded I decided to bring the fuzz knob from 2 o'clock down to 11. This pedal also has:

Internal Voltage Bias Trimmer: this control will help you set how fast the circuit cleans up and sags.. You can also simulate "dead battery" scenarios..

I havent messed with this yet, and Im not sure if the original owner tweaked it, but it may help it clean up better...

This pedal is perfect for those massive rhythm tones that sound like a a track of marshall crunch and a track of fuzz mixed together. Not unlike Billy Gibbons gets on the last few ZZ records. Its got crunch and bite, yet its one of THE smoothest fuzzes I have ever played.

Wow man. That thing sounds killer, especially with your playing!

This definitely helps cop the EJ vibe a lot easier than my other fuzzes... Although my hot silicon will do it to, it doesnt sound all that EJ-ish into my champ, it has to be cranked through the Marshall. My Sunface will do it really well too, even though its germanium... But the 200lbs cops it right off the bat.

Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to pick one up soon

That sounds really good. Nice playing also.

Now fuzz and Superbass clips are needed.

Hell yeah! That sounds great! In terms of feel how would you rank it amongst other pedals you've played?

It feels different than your typical fuzz. It has a cool liquid quality to it and some sag. Kind of reminds me of Big Muff. When you roll the back the guitar volume you lose some of that sag, but not in a bad way.

When you have the guitar volume full on, it feels like your running reverb/delay or something... It has a wet quality to it.

I need to hear it into my Superbass at band volume, and I need to tweak the internal trimmer.

That sounds fantastic Shea!!!

bonus points for playin the Cheap Sunglasses riff :D

Sounds good Shea!
