Rhodes Colossus: aborted, peppers dirty tree, Nolly IR

I love this amp, I love this pedal, I LOVE this driftwood loadbox, and I love this IR I have from Nolly of one of his early 2000s recto cab, single 57. Bass guitar might be alittle hot, but whatever, this rules. If you are into the real chunky riff stuff, scroll to 1:50, that’s where the goods are. Enjoy!

I think the Colossus is one of my favorite sounding amps for heavy rhythm tones. I had an Artemis and didn't gel with the lead tones, but that may have been my tastes or my approach. But hearing the Colossus is what made me want to buy a Rhodes/KSR. Kyle's amps have their own distinctive flavor, and he's one of the best people to deal with.

Thanks man. Lows were oughta control! I just picked up fabfilters pro MB which is great: a lot you can do with this but this was just a test, really tightened up the lows and balanced everything a lot more, big fan of this and can’t wait to learn what else I can do with it.

I just looked up the Fabfilters. Looks like lots of fun to have and tinker with.

The compressor changed it a bit. There is one drum tone that is killing me though. It comes in about 20 seconds and for me sticks out in a bad way. Almost like someone is banging on a wall trying to get you to stop. 🤣

Probably just don’t like the snare choice! Haha. It’s a very death metalish style snare for sure that can get fatiguing on the blasts I agree. I’m sure I could do much better with the pro Mb, but just wanted to slap it on and see what I thought. Dialed the highs back alittle too much but it’s all good, when I have some more time I’ll tinker.

Dont get me wrong, I really dig it. That chug part is great too.
 
That sounds sick. Pretty evil, love the tone.
