Agree, this sounds really good. I think the regular version plexi sounds decent, but this one is definitely better. Wonder what Boggie amps those are?

Do you need to have a very clean "transparent" amp to get these sounds?

I had a fly rig for a few days and it just wasn't for me. I ran it into a clean DSL100 but whenever I tried to turn the gain upon the plexi or boost, it was much too noisy for me. It definitely didn't sound anything like Richie's.

No. He had always been a solo artist. I'm sure we will hear from them again.

As for the pedal, I was at the show in NYC. His time was ok not great but I think the sound at the venue was pretty bad overall

I will be seeing him up close and front this Saturday. I'll try and take some pics of his rig....

The Winery Dogs will be doing their second album this winter with a summer tour to follow. All three guys have other projects, so they divide the time up like a lot of people tend to do.

I saw him Wednesday night at a tiny cafe in Kentucky. About 80 people there. Got to hear his bogner/fly rig setup without any coloration from the PA because I was so close I was in front of it. Sounded really good, pretty dark sounding though definitely not trebly and he rarely switched the plexi mode off. Usually just turned down the volume to clean up. The delay was on 80% of the time and was very analog, again a darker tone.

I was going to say, not sure why everyone is busting a nut for his tone lately. I think it is horrible. He's obviously forgotten where the treble knob is or the dark playing compliments his no pick style. Either way, sounds way too dark and tubby for me. I like my crunch to cut. So in short, amazing player, terrible tone these days.

As soon as he starts playing, I stop giving a hoot about what he is plugged into.

A more true statement there may never be! Just goes to show he could sound good through a Gorilla and a First Act. The man can just play.
