alright, 8 pages and only one full tune courtesy of dan and a few quickies so in hopes of getting more people to post what they are working on, here's where my rhythm sits as of now.
dual tracked but a few sections are a little different so the overlap isn't perfect yet. I'll get my rhythm finalized tomorrow and then on to leads.
I have a rough draft of what I want to do for the lead but the bpm is so fast that the lead will take me some time but this is what I've got so far.
all the nonsense 8 pages in aside, I actually really had a blast today, I hope this thread inspires more such threads. great idea all around.

Great tone, super thrashy! The riffs remind me of the Cranium "Slaughter on the Dance Floor" record (which is one of my favorite thrash records ever)

You always say "we" and it's obvious you feel like you can't handle things on your own. It's never "me" with you... it always "we"....
That dillusional allie building you do hoping everyone agrees with you because you can't stand on your own. Can't handle a 1 on 1. In your mind, you have to have a group. Aka "we" like you are the leader of the diphit brigade and they just are assumed to agree and follow your lead. Its hilarious. Like your snare sound.
Nothing you say holds accuracy or weight thus far. So your depth perception is almost as bad as your drum sounds. "Almost".
You're speaking for alot of people who don't even know you, or me, which is interesting. Are you afraid to single yourself out without any help from someone like speed semen?

Thanks man, I love other peoples drum tracks because they force my brain to think outside of my usual so really appreciate you sharing the drums!
I’ve never heard the record you referenced but will give it a listen.
I really hope others share their stuff so we can make this a recurring thing!

Indeed, and if you (or anyone else) wants to use their own drum tones (stares at CuckNorris) I can just link the midi file and everyone's welcome to mix to their hearts content - I was just trying to make something quick and usable that would cut through a thrash mix
That Cranium record is so much fun!! It's very early "pizza thrash" or "party thrash" from the 90s

Good idea, here's the midi file for anyone with google drive - I don't know if the tempo will be embedded on your various daws, but it's 180bpm
I didn't have a ton of time to mess with the drums because I was busy writing and programming them, but anyone who wants to, feel free!

Yeah I had to track my leads after doing all of my daily woodshedding and I was still a bit sloppy, here and there tempo-wise
It definitely makes you have respect for all the thrash guitar-heros
Because if you halfed everything to 90 bpm all the 16th notes are going to sound retarded obviously

Absolutely, learning thrash leads of our heroes is a fuckin slog!
I can consistently get up to like 80% -90% speed if I really really just focus on nothing else…but that last 10% is just utter death lol
And then you add all the weird arpeggiation and timing shifts like Marty Friedman…Jesus…good night
I thought yours sounded great though, fit the track perfectly. Gonna take me a while cause I’m going to have to slow the track down to compose what I’m thinking and then slowly speed it up lol!
Might not even get back up to full speed

Obviously if it sounds good, it is good, but there's parameters you need to work around for lead stuff, and that's a big roadblock for lots of people

Yea dude your track shows you’ve spent a lot of time woodshedding, it had a lot small intricate pieces that came together very nicely
I’m just a dude at home having fun, not a pro by any means. I just barely got 16th notes up to 170 bpm for like one run and that was that lol
…haven’t hit that bpm since because my hands were just like “we did it once, go fuck yourself”I’m more at home at 150 bpm for the whole package. Appreciate you listening to my track though, I hope others will start sharing too

I always change my bpm in reaper to match a song im writing. Helps me to double track. Then i can match the metronome if i dont have drums

I dont know much about the theory, i can just hear rhythm from being a drummer, so my song i am writing is slow, but i dont like the bpm that slow because i will add some faster parts. But i set bpms to like 280, and ot still didnt sound right...because i assume i am playing in 3/4 or maybe 6/8

I really like the contrasting elements added without clashing.
Gives off an ethereal vibe in a good way.
