Rig-Talk, the last haven for real musicians

Shiiit we would have been neighbors kinda!

Housing costs here have been absolute insanity for a while, but the last couple years of "building back better" has turned insanity into "parody"

A couple of months ago, the only house under 400k didn't have indoor plumbing and no i'm not joking. No indoor plumbing, 385k.

Almost anything below 4 nowadays is in senior living communities or buying a trailer where you don't own the land.

Not surprised at all. We ended up building our house as an expansion to an older one outside of Oly in Capitol Forest. Took a while, but worth it.
There was around $60k in permits and fees alone just to break ground on property with no prior foundation.
So we took the loophole and built on an existing place.
Absolutely insane and even criminal that it's $60k in fees alone not including property, home, foundation, inspections, nothing but state and county taxes on a new home. 👿

You know I'm all about an Iceman. That antique metallic blue is icing on the cake for me.

I do. I love them as well, and the kinda-sorta-pelham blue is right in my wheelhouse - that's freaking badass.

It's funny, because living in a place like washington, which is as beautiful as it is possible for a state to be, you get a front row seat to the political insanity that has taken over one side of the aisle. We're like the canary in the coal mine for all of this stuff. I had to take my daughter out of public school because of the gender/sex stuff, and that certainly gets the most headlines; but it's the economic stuff that's actually batshit. I should be aghast that it cost 60k in retarded bureaucratic fees, but i'll be honest, my first thought was "damn I wish my mom knew about that loophole before she built her house." I believe it cost her around 90k

With how the "resistance" fights back against the bad orange man, I wouldn't be surprised if its well over 100 just to break ground in washington nowadays.

Yeah our property taxes are around $24k/year. They dropped for a year and then went right back up. Our roads are bad, schools are propaganda institutions, the homeless are everywhere, and the douchebags at the Capitol drive around in prius hybrid cars for virtue tell us all that we need to give more and give up more.

Jesus, we own damn near 40 acres in northern Michigan, and our taxes are only like 2k a year. Now I feel very lucky. Damn.

Yep, that's pretty stock for our lovely state. It's wild to me when people who live in other areas try to pull the "oh come on, they aren't that bad" card - no dude, if anything we're probably underselling just how bad it is.

Yeah man, it's absolutely insane. Let's just say for as bad as it is everywhere in the US (which, contributed to the election obviously) in places like Washington it's completely out of fucking control. I took my child out of public elementary/primary school because they were teaching 6-10 year olds about "gay kink" stuff such as fisting, for example. This is why some of us get really annoyed with the "hey man, both sides are dumb. I am a very smart lib" song and dance. It's absolutely destroying people's lives and livelihoods, and Lisa and I are at ground zero and have watched our state go from a "lefty but kind of moderate" state to a screeching blue hair retard insane asylum.

To be fair, our home isn't average and is also on acreage. Guessing most homes in the neighboring area are $3-5k/year? My point was more or less that we pay a lot and get screwed in return. The fees cost is criminal and is out of pocket costs for people who want to build their own homes instead of paying $500k for an 800 square feet century old house with problems. We would have paid it if it came down to it, but we found the perfect spot and are very happy. It cost way more than that to run new power and internet, anyways. We also get charged for rainfall, no joke. It's X amount of $ per square foot of land for reclamation fees or something like that. Just crazy.

It's pretty bad even without acreage. My mom pays almost 10 and lives in an average residential area, although a moderately large house.

That about sums it up.
Miss the days when blue hair was punk... :ROFLMAO:

It sucks, colored hair used to be "awesome, my music people" and now it means "gross obese poly woman looking for someone to bang her, and her effete husband to watch"

The thing is... this isn't an exaggeration here.
Downtown is full of people who think aids is a government handout.
Anyways, too early for me and this convo. o_O

Jeez, you guys should work for the Washington State tourism board. Sounds like forests and apples ain't worth it anymore. Say hello to Governor Antifa for me.
Well I’m sure it’s beautiful but you couldn’t pay me to live in Washington or Oregon or Colorado anymore. Too many Californians there now.

Just like the taxes, if anything it's underselling it. "They" are everywhere.

Dude you don't understand our pain :ROFLMAO:

Everyday in washington state is like the crazy tiktoks you see of androgenous teenagers primal screaming. You know, the ones where people say "That isn't how real people act."

Well, here, it IS how real people act.

I am far too Midwestern. The second some animal rights activist came up to me when I was fishing and started preaching, I'd cast a crankbait into their face.
Well one things for sure. Any of the crazy left bullshit only happens in the city proper. No Ferguson effect happening down by me that’s for god damn sure.

And you'd get 1432 years in prison for a hate crime.

Not to mention all the crazy licensing for fishing and hunting here.
