Sammy and his Dead Horse

It amazes me that even after the main talent of the band dies, they are still reporting “beef” between a founding member and the ex-replacement singer.

The band is done. Over. Who cares if Alex and Sammy don’t get along? All voices are shot. Even the best reunion tour would be lackluster without the main ingredient.

DLR is the ultimate d-bag frontman with a mostly shitty voice and ultra annoying stage persona. Hagar punches in at about the same weight. Not even sure what people get excited about. Jump and all that shit. Syrupy pop garbage with synth. If that came out today this forum would shit all over it but it's just EDDDDDDEEEEEEEEE adulation.. Ok grandpa super gold. Hur dur ice cream man. I could give a shit if I ever heard another tune from them again. Weren't no Chuck Schuldiner's Death. Weren't no Pantera. Stuff suuuuuuuuuuucks. Stick that in your 5150.

The only one I respect out of this whole situation is Wolfie. He had nothing but good things to say about everyone who made an impact to Van Halen.

The train wreck Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction gave me an idea of how bad things would get. All of these guys could have done amazing things while my hero was still alive.

As usual, the two lead singers found it more important to say how they were THE singer in VH than burying the hatchet and being a friend to EVH while he was dying of cancer.

lol the only blasphemy was not changing the band name to Van Hagar…cause everything after 1984 just sucks

Van Halen rules, Van Hagar drools
One of the lamest fuckin things they did was almost entirely stop playing the Roth material once Hagar joined.

I couldn't imagine being a kid, not knowing any better, going to see Van Halen and only getting "Jump" from the Roth years.

Conversely, one of the coolest things Wolfie did in the band was actually ask fans on social media to find out what tunes they want to hear.

On one hand I understand because it was like a volcano finally erupting…all those years of just absolute maniacal levels of domination all coming apart…I don’t begrudge them I suppose

But on the other hand, and to your point, we’ve got a whole generation of people who are diehard Hagar fans because of what you described and honestly these people are certifiably retarded as far as I’m concerned…they probably feel the same way about me and I’d still hangout with them, but I’d definitely tell them they’re retarded lol

I think a lot of bullshit could have been filtered out if they'd just changed the damn name.

Sabbath is another one of those bands. Yeah the Dio albums are great, but it's a different fucking band.

Dude 100%

It’s like a recurring theme with some of the greatest bands to grace this planet

Just leave the name and legacy alone, move on and free your creativity under another banner

I was reluctant to accept Sammy.

But, FUCK was a great album

And then I saw Sammy this summer and I realized I was thankful someone is truly honoring the legacy of VH
