Pretty good rockin tune. Wasn’t sure what the deal was with the references to Eddie in the video but on the interwebs it says:

“Inspired by a vivid dream Hagar had about the late Eddie Van Halen, the song marks a full-circle moment in his storied career. "Encore, Thank You, Goodnight." features Hagar on vocals, Michael Anthony on bass, Joe Satriani on guitar and Kenny Aronoff on drums. The production — handled by Hagar, Satriani and Eric Caudieux — delivers a sound that is at once nostalgic and forward-looking. According to Hagar, the dream that sparked the song came about a year after Eddie's passing and left a lasting impact. Rather than being a somber farewell, the song is a celebration and expression of appreciation — for the fans, and for the unforgettable chapter they shared in VAN HALEN.”

“This song is my final bow to that part of my life," says Hagar. "It's not meant to be anything more than a 'thank you' — with love, with respect, and with one hell of a guitar solo“

Money grab. Sammy's a sell-out.

Always liked Sammy’s attitude and he’s had great pipes in the past, but, sadly, I have to agree with you, Napalm.

The whole tour with Joe (nothing against Joe) is something I had no interest in seeing.
I really cannot fathom how it was successful.

I just got a crazy phone call… it was 1985…. They wanted their schtik back.

I know Sammy likes playing with Joe because he’s a reliable professional, but he’s a poor choice for this type of venture, everything sounds like Satch.

Also, dwelling on EVH at this point is boarding on weird. You want to play a few of the songs, okay. Touring the catalog, or interpreting dreams about him. too much for me.

2 minutes of horseshit before the tune even kicks in. This is mediocre garbage, IMO.
Joe Satriani, a great fit when Deep Purple offers him the gig, opts for his solo career, and along the way, taints it with this whole Sammy/ VH bullshit.
Sammy's band, with Victor Johnson blows this shit away.
