How do you like the Sustainiac?

I just recently sold a great Schecter C-1 Blackjack with a Lundgren M6 in the bridge and Sustainiac in the neck. Sounded fucking great. Looked great. Made in South Korea. Only reason I sold it is because of the Floyd Rose - it's not for me. At some point, I might seek out another similar C-1 with a fixed bridge.

My experience with the new Omens or whatever the 500 dollar Schecters are at Guitar Center - they feel like shit. Maybe the ones I play just need setups, but sprouted frets, uncomfortable necks - idk. They're yucky. And the finishes can be polarizing lol.
I like the sustainiac but haven't explored it much.

The Floyd Rose sucks to setup but once they are locked in I like how they stay in tune.

I have an old Hellraiser that's decent also. Feels a bit chunky though.

My little collection minus the Solo-II.

Thin C vs Thin U is night and day for me with not interested in the U at all. Was unfortunate because I really wanted a Banshee.

I had a Reaper multiscale 7, KM-7 mk3 artist and an sls elite, all 7 strings. All the same neck mostly. The KM 7 was the highest quality. Even with the same neck and im pretty sure at least the Reaper had the same dimensions, there were very slight differences.

For me, just like with your Reaper it comes down to what pickups do you like? None of them were perfect, Fishman to me are/were over hyped and not some amazing pickups. The moderns have some annoying mid honk, the KM schecters didn't but those had no character. And the Reaper pickups well, you have those.

TLDR I love schecter guitars, for a production line I rate them higher than any other brand out there. Ibanez, LTD, Jackson, etc BUT I would never buy one with active pickups again because the pickups will definitely be replaced.

Regarding the E-ii. They're absolutely higher quality than production schecter but it's a different neck carve so.....just up to the player I guess what plays better.

CR-6. The C-6 is a different, and I think cheaper, model. Seems like the CR-6 might be out of production? MF still has 'em in stock it seems though.

The CR-6 is a Musicians Friend / Guitar Center Exclusive that is called the C-6 Pro in Europe.

The 'C-6' in the US is a totally different cheaper model. It is a model I actually wish they had a high end version of, because I love that it has a beveled flat top instead of the usual archtop.

I LOVE Schecter, but my general complaint about them is that they are now putting that Ultra Thin C and Thin U neck on everything. The Thin C is my favorite, and one reason I prefer to go back and buy older 2008ish Hellraisers and such.

I have an original 2013ish Banshee, and it has the Ultra Thin C neck, but it doesnt feel as thin as the current ones. I also have a CR-6, and the neck on that is like a toothpick. I planned on getting a Reaper, but never did because I know it has the same neck as the CR-6.

Something like the new Sunest Extreme with a Thin C neck would be an instant buy for me.

Mine sat on a stand for months at a time and never went out of tune. Sold it before having to restring it...cause fuck that lol. Took a big loss on the guitar cause I don't want to learn how to restring it - fuck me.

The Sustainiac is cool on paper. With my playing style, it didn't get a lot of use though.

Oh, go figure.

Thing is Schecter is famous for being the bang-for-buck brand, and they do know that, so they tried, with the economy kicking prices higher and higher, to keep things fancy with a still acceptable price. But it's not easy task, more and more brands started building import lines in the same facilities LTD and Schecter used, which caused prices to rise up again (and move the whole thing to Indonesia to keep costs down) and QC to go down the drain. I can understand them, it's not an easy market anymore now that even youtubers have their brand; and yeah, while in the past LTD have been a so and so brand (excluding their beginning, when a ~400 series was an outstanding guitar no question), in most recent years they started kicking all kind of arses, maybe not quality wise but features and look wise, which is basically the reason why an ESP/LTD is what 95% of metal players use on stage.
Schecter tried to keep up, but their philosophy of "put some flashy binding here and a figured veneer there, it'll look pricier" is not really what guitar players seek (maybe excluding beginners).

With that said, their Fujigen lineup might be a game changer, if they accept to make some metal machine looking models.
To be fair, every South Korean Schecter I've had has been top notch. I did get a PT Elite with a dead pickup, but they replaced it, no questions asked. I've had a Solo-6, 2 Solo II Customs, 2 C-1 FR SLS Elites, and 2 of the older quilt top Banshees - one an FR-6 Passive with Duncan's, and another FR-6 Active with EMG's. All stellar guitars. It's the Indonesians that tend to be hit/miss. Hell, I really want another Nick Johnston SSS so I can throw a YJM Fury pickup set in it.

The E-1 and V-1 are two of the best bang for buck guitars that you can buy new right now.

I'd be happier if Schecter made a reaper version of both shapes. And yeah, more V-1 and E-1 in general.
