I've just found this awesome guitar company called Jaden Rose Guitars. I was on the phone with Jaden, the owner and builder, for like 50 minutes and he was incredibly helpful. I'm definitely going over in the summer to try out his instruments. They sound fantastic from the way he explains them - and look amazing, too.

So yeah, there are some amazing guitar/amp companies in Europe that I always tend to ignore because America usually holds the best track record for a steady supply of great gear. You know, all the most famous guitar companies are from America - PRS, Gibson, Fender, Suhr, etc.

I've quit playing american guitars after 52 years of playing them.
It took me long enough, but I truly now believe that European guitar companies are far ahead of what is currently offered in america.
Obviously I also believe that the European amp companies are FAR superior as well, having played Diezel amps since 2001. :worship:

I think you suffer, though, in that you have to pay, not only the increased prices of the European market - where everything over there[here] is that much more expensive - but also the duties and additional charges that even official American dealers calculate.

Same goes for us buying American gear. I've been trying to quench Diezel GAS by buying America amps for ages - Soldano, Mesa, Line 6 - but it never goes away.  I then tried to go for something a bit more "different" with Titan and Baron Custom Amps. But the cost of importing them - even though they are a lot cheaper than European amps like ENGL and Framus - would equal to the price of a VH4 brand new direct from Diezel. Which is really disappointing. So, as you may remember from my thread, I'm back to saving up for an Einstein or something else "Diezel".

AG,
You are smart to save for the Diezel.
Too much emphasis is placed on american gear and I'm seeing it as getting to be more of market hype then real quality.
I am not the least bit bothered by paying more for European gear here. The quality is far superior in my humble opinion. Besides, I would rather support people who have pride in their work, stand behind their product and have treated me well.

If I never have to play on another american guitar, amp or other piece of gear that I can get a better version of from Europe, it would still be too soon.

I think I actually completely agree. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on American products because... well, I don't know why. I think because there is simply more of them it seems like the sensible choice. But it's only sensible for effects pedals. Guitars, amps, etc. are not practical to buy direct from America, for reasons I already mentioned.

Yep, Diezel for me.

I use TC Electronics effects as well from Denmark.
If I had access to other European effects manufacturer's gear to try, I would wean myself off american gear completely.
