Thanx Steven for your advice. Might be something to ponder about in the near future. But right now the amp will have to work with my 4x12 loaded with both a couple of Greenbacks and a couple of G12T75. I perfectly know that everybody hates those T75s but imho in combination with the Greenbacks they offer just the right amount of extra edge and that's what I'm looking for. Anyway a new cab as described might always be something of interest. But you know - it always comes down the bucks.
Keep it simple - and stupid!!

EVH,
You owe no one any apology for what your ears tell you they like. I wouldn't care what anyone else likes, if my ears preferred the sound of a given speaker, such as a G12T-75.
Whatever makes you happy is all that matters.

I can rave about what I like, but you, or another person may try it and say, "Damn, that Stephen must be tone-deaf! These speakers stink on ice!"

When I give my opinion, it is just that and no more. Please take it with a grain of salt until you try out the speakers for yourself with your personal gear to make up your own decision.
Stephen

Stephen,
I understood it just the way you described and I'm also always willing to try something new as first of I consider myself to be on the eternal quest for tone and second of have been playing for 30 years now know that taste changes. I frequently find myself in a new situation. What suited my taste only a year or two ago is long gone by now. So you never know what you're up to in the future. So what I'm saying is as soon as I get the chance I'll try this TT-cab - and as I just noticed the lat time I spelled your name the wrong way so please accept my apologies.

evh,
No problem with the name spelling
I am the same way you are with changing up the gear and getting tired of the older sounds. That has since been cut back radically, however, since playing with Diezel amps.
I have now found the best tones I have ever had since thinking out the set up for about a year, researching the different effects, speakers, et al., and trying what I think would be the best choices, even though I have not been able to play one single thing before buying it.
It just happened to work out perfectly for me.
This has been the case with my guitars as well. I now play on a carbon fiber guitar and it is better for me then having played the Gibsons, Fenders, and other brands for 50 years. I just got tired of buying, and re-buying the same old thing.
The only wood guitar I do want would be a Vigier G.V. Wood, or maybe even a regular Vigier model, but that will have to wait awhile.

I'm finding the Schmidt to have the tones I use the most and can work with the most efficiently over all the other Diezel models. Again, just a personal thing.
Take care evh.

Hi everybody,
unfortunately bad news from my side. As I was promised a delivery of the Schmidt within a couple of weeks in the beginning of march and I still haven't received it  I was forced to open my eyes for something different. Eventually yesterday I decided to buy a Dr. Z Maz 18 Non-Reverb which is also a Class-A Amp and should absolutely support my playing style. I really wanted to stick with a European/German product but due to the long delivery time and above all the wrong promises I'm now back to a US-product.
However - thanks for all your support and advice.
Keep on rocking.

EVH,
I, as well, have had to wait for the amps and guitars I desired, but found that it was worth the wait for me. Everyone is different when it comes to this.
The Schmidt does take time, when ordered, to be received.
Often, dealers will tell you what you want to hear to get a sale from you, even though, they may not know the real story for a timed delivery from the company.
I hope you like the Dr. Z amp you decided to purchase.

Right - I'm sure the Schmidt is a fantastic amp. And it's not all over. According to what I've heard so far from the Dr z I really liked the feeling, sound and response. And I think a lot of that actually has to do with the amp being Class-A. So I guess I will sell the Einstein soon and maybe then the time is right for the Schmidt.

It's a shame that the Schmidt didn't arrive for you in time. I didn't realise there was such a long wait for them. It would explain why so many shops don't have them in stock.

All the best with the Dr. Z. Their amps are probably one of those pieces I'll never have the chance to try due to where I live.

Do you live in England?

Ireland is a really beautiful country, but, imo, kindly badly run. It's going down the crapper at the moment. We spent all our money on houses that no one can afford to buy. And there literally isn't enough people to fill these houses even if we could afford them.

The banking system is also hay-wire at the moment. Many of them have declared bankruptcy. Debts have been called in sooner that first required and folks haven't been able to pay. Credit cards are a wonderful thing, but can be seriously harmful, too.

Everyone should visit Ireland at least once in their life. It's a truly beautiful country, full of culture.

Yeah, ask your Aunt about the housing situation. She may know more about than I do. All I know is that there are hundreds of houses built in neighbouring towns that have no occupancy. When they were building them three years ago when the Celtic Tiger was still relatively present, my mum used to say "where are these people gonna come from to inhabit these houses?" I always used to say that they'd always be filled. I was wrong.
