Is there an album by album guide of amps they used
I think back in the day it was 50 watt Marshalls , possibly Fenders for the clean stuff. There's some shots of a Roland JC120 onstage during the Blackout tour. Matthias started using the SLO 100 in the late 80s. Some god shots of it here at the 1989 Moscow Peace Festival , it was on display in the Tease Me Please Me video also

Pretty sure they also used Engl and Steavens stuff in the late 80s, early 90s.

Did the Explorer 90 ever hit the market?

Yeah, I don´t think they made it for long and they´re pretty rare but I´ve seen them in a few variations. White and silver, with and without the Floyd, one or two pickups...

I would love to come across one of those.

I am surprised he favors 50 watters, when the 100 watters push way more air.

But I guess you will get more grind out of a 50 watt.

Back in 1994 I worked for the big promoter that ran our big Amphitheater. Scorpions did several days of rehearsals, then the show. Basically on my lunch break I'd go down and watch them rehearse right by the sound board.

They sounded amazing. The coolest thing was watching them just focus on certain parts of songs arguing back and forth about getting the part right. Now these rehearsals were in the middle of the tour and one of the reasons they sound so good live.

I saw their rigs, Marshall's, Soldano's, Hiwatts, early Engls and Kittyhawks. Was also the first time I saw Wizard as Rudolph was using the amps and cabs at the time.

One of the tightest bands live I have ever seen, they were always spot on. Seen them at least four times.

It's why my bandmates probably disliked me at times because I loved to rehearse. I mean here's a band that's done everything and they're up rehearsing in a short break in the tour and arguing over things they've played numerous times just to get it perfect. Cool stuff.

Practicing is one of the biggest problems with being in a band. There is always one asshole that doesn't want to show up.

I always loved their Marshall tones around Love at First Sting, etc. Such a great band and saw them one the "Crazy World" tour wirh Great White and Trixster. Yawned during Trixter but loved Great White and then the Scorpions destroyed everyone with tones and ramps. Was amazing!

That guitar player went to the same guitar teacher I did. He's a real good player but yeah, Trixter was not my cup of tea either.

lol…saw that tour at the Worcester Centrum in MA. Unfortunately it was the first time I was able to see the Scorpions live but they still killed it.
