Cool, but take your time. I've been playing Herbert since late 03' and I'm still finding new tones out of him, to this day.

I have recently fallen in love with channel 3 on the Herbert... channel 2+ on the Herbert has more then enough distortion, but it doesn't have the OOMPF and sustain of of channel 3, also I like the little bit of added compression on channel 3 of the Herbert...so long story short I'm loving channel 3 on the Herbert...

True... But Channel 2- has More OOMPF and bottom than even Channel 3 (and you need 6550's to see just how much OOMPF this amp has), and the Most tone...

That's why I did a Gain Mod To Channel 2- Now It has most of the gain of 2+ With More CHUNK & BEEF Than even Channel 3!!! NIRVANA!

You are a Mark IV fanboi and you think you will like the VH4 better?

a little opt but...d has anyone played the mark V? opinion? differencies from the Herbert?
thanx

Mizati20, Herbert's channel 3 on itself is where Diezel shines, I don't think you can nail that tone with the sustain and compression with the vh4.

VH4 is dryer, so you kinda gotta play tighter....makes you a better player.
But herbert won't make you lose your chops cause you're gonna play 24/7

Are you saying the VH-4 has less sustain and compression... or more? Thanks for the input as well... does channel 4 on the VH-4 come close the Herbert channel 3? Or is it just way over the top?

I love Herbert channel 3 because it basically plays itself almost (best way I know how to describe it)...
