Yeah- bit of story there. I bought the first one about 5 years ago

It cracked
A big mother crack on the front.

I took it to a Gibson repair guy who said, yep, manufacturing flaw. It happens sometimes with these- if an air bubble gets in the maple laminate top. Be care ful though- If you send it back, they won't fix this one- They'll send you a new one.

I'm, sure all you guitar guys realize I had to think about that one...

Decided to do it, and got sent the one in the picture. Great guitar! It's in my lap right now and thanks you for the compliment!

I called Gibson and asked them about the old one. They destroyed it!

When I sent it back I felt like I was sending a child off to camp for the first time.

Little did I realize the camp was Auschwitz- Death camp!

Does Gibson have somebody like the guy at Mesa Boogie whose job it is to whack the amps with a hammer? Is there a Gibson guitar executioner- some big sweaty muscled guy with a black mask who whacks the things to pieces? Or is it like a "guitar gas chamber"- impersonally smashed up and burned in the crematoria?

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just for the hell of it- Here's the cracked old one.

Ah, to guitars gone by... rest in peace old friend...

the 335s sound great through the 4100/ 4212.....

I too have a 335 dot, mine is black gloss, with silver hardware of corse :)

I almost had to put a new neck on mine thanks to it taking a stage dive off a bad guitar stand, and splitting out through the headstock........
i had a heart attack that day...

the repair shop fixed er up nicely for much cheaper! and the battle damage is on the back side now...

blueburl: The proverbial Gibson broken headstock. :(

Boof: Dude, everytime I see this post and look at that black room I get inspired! Amazing. I love the spot lights.

Yeah, it does! My old Mesa seemed preferential to the Strat, but the Eggie seems to like the 335 more- rich sounding, and the second clean channel nails that old-time Chuck Berry kind of sound when it is driven a little hot.

The Strat shimmers on cleans through this amp, but isn't so strong on distortions.

Nice. bet that room is flat sounding. Is that a 2nd floor or converted attic?

Here is a new one of mine. It was easier to just move

This is in the loft area of my condo, taken a while back. I've since changed my rig.

This is was my downstairs living room set up.
