Watching “Signs” (again). Elliott Buster Bear - the best (Bull Mastiff) dog ever, heard the dogs barking when the aliens were starting to attack. H e’s not having it. They may have advanced weapons, but ET would absolutely suffer a. Ass chewing at this house 😆

I would not be opposed to a government funded Bull Mastiff attack force for these situations. Heh, when I was young one of my neighbors has a Bull Mastiff...couldn't have been a bigger teddy bear. Beast had to have been 120+ lbs. Let all the kids crawl all over him, climb on him. Don't think I ever heard him bark once. If he had a bad side, I wouldn't want to get on it though.
 
Elliott is a super fit 145 pounds. His mid section rivals Bruce Lee. He is the sweetest cannibal you could ever love - until you look like a threat (ask the UPS guy…). He was never trained to be aggressive, but those embedded traits be strong…

Mastiffs are great dogs indeed. One of the very oldest dog breeds.
some are sweet and some are well..........not sweet lol..

"Turner & Hooch" "Sandlot" - all great mastiffs.
 
Bull Mastiffs look so much like Boxers, just thicker-set.

Always been a huge Boxer fan.

I never did like the way their face looked. Nice looking body, but their face just looks different than It should in my opinion.
I dunno. I have two golden retrievers now, but still think German Shepherds are the best looking dogs. I had a female for 10 years and had to put her down last winter because she lost complete control of her back 1/2. I miss that girl every day, best dog I ever had.

Of course, strictly-speaking a shepherd should look like the ultimate dog 'cause, well, it's closest to a wolf.

Maybe there's another breed which better fits the criteria, but you get what I mean.

"The rest" are just varying degrees of inbred runts... and we love 'em. :LOL:
