HOLY #$%&!!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome tone. This module has just got vintage pure british tone up the wazoo. The picking sensitivity on both channels is fantastic. Nuances of playing come thru very well. You can go from clean to crunch just my backing off your attack, which I love.
Channel A, with a strat or tele, CAN get clean!!! Like, a real-deal clean. Very different than the sparkling Twin Clean, or the grindy bassman clean. The SL ChA set clean is super, super punchy, with lots of midrange in it. But it sounds incredible. Using a bridge high output bucker, you're gonna get *some* hair around the edges, but in a pleasing way. Push Channel A a bit more, and you're in Plexi heaven. Awesome medium gain crunch tones.
Channel B of the SL has about 85% of the same saturation level as the SL2 Channel A, but a very, very different vibe. I hate to use the word "looser"... Maybe more like, less modern-tightness. But it's not loose or sloppy at all. Diming Channel B on the SL was getting me some awesome, Injected-like gained up rhythm tones.
Not to compare Amplifier companies, but I see alot of people on this forum ask quite frequently "What Egnater module sounds like a Soldano, which one sounds like a Bogner XTC, Which one sounds like a Shiva, which one sounds like..."
As a Bogner Shiva owner for 6 years, I can say that Channel B of the SL module is THE closest you're gonna get to a Shiva sound, using an Egnater, in my opinion.
There's lost of similarities. It's gained up, but not quite "modern saturated" type gain. I'd call it "upper mid-gain", but not high gain. Every note in complex chords rings out. Single note riffs just GRIND and have an incredible midrange punch to them. The best part is, you can get those great tones at MUCH lower volume levels than the "B" brand... and by using the bass boost switches and the bass knob, you can add in that lower midrange "B" bump, or take it out, depending on your tastes.
All in all, probably one of my favorite modules that I've played, for my style.
(and trust me, I've been giving the COD, EG5, SL2, BMAN, and EG3 some serious test drives this week...).
Two thumps up.

RockStarNick":2aas0386 said:Matt, you'll be able to get a clean tone in probably everything *but* your straight up bridge bucker.
In the notch 4th position, or neck bucker, or middle single coil, you'll be able to get it clean enough. But the straight up bridge bucker will always have a BIT of hair to it...
MY module sounds great in YOUR amp by the way... you F'er. You're gonna have to PRY this amp away from me.
Although, my girlfriend will be glad to get the massive 2x12 rig out of our living room...
