Just got mine from Jeff last week and mine has no noise issues. I love it!

Yep, I believe the missing piece was not have the metal causing in place. When I was at Rob's house, he modded my Randalls and I swore he put the moduoles i n the head with just the board, but I guess I was wrong!

On the EG3/4, are you guys doing the GnR mod as well? I dropped the tube board cap from 1000 to 500pF and am doing the tight mod, but not so sure about the GnR mod. I like the mid character of the EG3/4 and don't want it too close to the SLX. I just want tighter lows and the 500pF.

On the Bassman, are any of you running the upper mid bite mod like the GnR? If so, does it ruin the cleans at all?

I've had noise issues when I was lazy one day and didn't tighten the thumbscrews... you need that metal from the module chassis to touch the amp chassis, to complete the grounding, right?

Man I think I just stumbled upon why I'm having some noise issues with EG5. I never even thought about the thumbscrews. I just found a new project for tomorrow.

Just got my SL2 (now SL2X) back from Jeff today. Man I am happy. I can get pretty close to the tone you have on the top of this thread but my rig (and hands) are much warmer. This of course is a good thing for me. Exactly what I always tried to get out of the SL2 but never quite there. I personally need the ratty fizzy top end a bit to feel like a Marshall and this has just enough with out getting brittle. Bad ass
