Brother, in the 1st video you really demonstrated what was the stark difference of a SLO and a Dual Rectifier.
-That thick and sweet top-end that keeps ya
just gettinā€™ after it, you have to play it yourself to really get it.
The Dual Rectifier on the other hand,
the top-end can handle more jumbo gain with less squeal, however; you really canā€™t get that warm, thick, vibrant top-end in DR, especially for leads going up the neck.
You can nail one of those Dimebag wahā€™s
while being in the ā€˜thick of some monstrous mutesā€™ and kick a fat bend and the feedback/squeal is much more
manageable with the DR.
Msybe thatā€™s where the pre-amp
designā€™s say ā€˜adios amigosā€™?

I need to see if my hr25 opens up after giving it some gas like you all are saying the slo100 does. Itā€™s been a good while since I have cranked it, that needs to change.

On the 100, OD channel, volume around 6, it's brutal.
I'm much happier with volume at 1!

I am wondering if the SLO100 opening up around 6 is the reason for the comments I have seen in the past on the SLO100 not sounding good at low volumes. My thought is that if you getting tones you like at volumes you want, you are good, even if you are not able to run the amp at the optimal settings.

Have you tried pulling 2 power tubes on the SLO100?

Negative. It sounds great anywhere on the volume knob. Well, I'd say from .75 on.
Very consistent up til 5.5-6, when it does that thing.
Can't see how pulling tubes would help.

I played @LPMojoGL 's SLO this weekend. I want one now. Low volume was terrific. High volume was godly. It took boosts well, but at a certain volume, it really didn't need one for my tastes, even with the gain between 11 and 2:00. It feels so good under the fingers and it can get pretty brutal.

BAD knocked it out of the park.
