All of them are changes in the mids. Enough, a bit more and then tons!

Thanks guys. I find myself playing through the SB most of the time. But yeah that Bogner... Sometimes its the perfect amp

Through my iPhone headphones, they all sounded nearly identical (and great). The 3rd had more low end so I assumed it was the 5150. But otherwise I don't think I could tell them apart.

My thoughts exactly...great playing as always though, Jim

just pulled the trigger on a bogner wessex for my small box. Trying to capture some bogner vibes.

Ecstasy 101b
Friedman Small Box 50
FJA 5150

I guessed the Friedman as the second video...
I had the Ecstasy and 5150 flip flopped tho.

My vote was for amp #1.

Always enjoy your vids.

Great amps! Love them all!

I believe Smallbox is the amp 1, Ecstasy n. 2 and FJA 5150 n. 3!

All I knew was the first wasn't the Peavey. The Standby 'click' in the first vid was too loud for a 5150 switch haha

Ha that's exactly what I guessed.

Me too actually. The 2nd clip has the Friedman mids. I hear a similar thing with his Judge module that was designed for the MTS line. Liked the Bogner the best in these clips though!

The first 2 were clearly better tones, but I liked the extra nasty sizzle on the 3rd (5150)

I like the small box... more mids less fizz just better tone. Just plug in and play no bs! Thats why i like mine!
It's like a Marshall, if i had the volume up its a much nicer sounding amp. The other two have immense preamp gain so in a low vilume test they already have that advantage

I've been demoing a Smallbox for two days and last night was decision night on whether I kept the Smallbox and sent my Ceriatone Chupacabra to my local store on-trade, or kept the Chup and took the Friedman back. My Splawn Quickrod was staying either way. Another option was keeping all three amps... but I try to maintain my one-in, one-out, wife-happy policy when able.

I had been leaning towards keeping the Chup, since it's unique (around these parts) and I've loved the tone of it for the year and a half that I've had it. I felt that I liked it better on the first night. But last night, I turned all three amps up just a bit more and swapped back and forth between them all. There was no question... the Smallbox and Quickrod were my favorite two. I think that extra hit of volume got the Smallbox really purring and showing what it was REALLY all about. So I'm having the wife drop my Chup off at the store on her lunch hour today. It's been a great run and I still think highly of that amp, but I do believe that the Smallbox and Quickrod are the richest sounding amp tandem I've ever had in the man cave. This pairing unseated the XTC Classic/Uberschall Twin Jet combo that had previously occupied my #1 spot. That combo has stood as my favorite for several years (up until now).

With some decent volume the Small Box is amazing. Like i said it's the amp i typically plug into.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Had the order right here on my end... all familiar in some ways.. .but also re-affirms my love for Bogner  Thanks for clips.

Bogners are incredible. No two ways about it. Right now i'm playing through the FJA 5150. This amp is still a pretty killer amp

WOW!!! I chose the Small Box. I used to be a huge Bogner XTC fan as I owned a 1998 XTC 101B for over 10 years!!! Killer amps!!!

Jeebus I have expensive taste. I voted 1 before scrolling down to see the answer. I for sure would've pegged it for a Friedman just because it had tons of focus in the mids and marshally which I like and it was tight. I liked it a lot. I thought that was suppose to be a looser amp honestly. I've really only played one a handful of times and really just didn't know what half the switches and knobs do.

Actually I take that back I kinda dig 2 quite a bit too, about the same

Those that say the Ecstasy is dark and flubby only heard one at very low volume. As for the Small Box with some volume it has a ton of gain. Best Marshall i've ever heard!
