Hello Guys,
I made some experience about the "issues" on the Herbert.
The overbleeding on the models that I have here is very small.
It comes from the ground, because it´s a big board. If I short
the return of the loops to ground, it´s no more noise.
So it´s a kind of preamp overbleeding and if we would optimize
it, we need a new circuit. I mean, the issues is very small and
don´t affects the functionality of the amp. I don´t want to
redesign an amp that some people buy because of sound.
The crackling with expression pedals is a more bigger issue
that I know also from other manufactures. I removed the
midi in signal from the multiwire that connects back- and
mainboard and wired it with two extra cables to the optocouplers
before the controller. The midi signal is no more close the
the audio signal and the crackling is a bit quiter, but also
there.
A solution would be to install the optocouplers on the backboard
to send the midi signal in shortest way to the trough jack.
Then we need a filter that only accepts program changes
to come into the mainboard with the audio signal. I will check
this out during the next weeks and will tell You if it works.
Btw, You don´t really hear the crackling too much while
playing. But as You know me, I will take care of the issue.
Have a great weekend,
Peter
