I don't know where I read it, or if I indeed read it, papa's words about a possible small Diezel later this year?

Papa is it indeed what's coming next out of the Diezel factory?

I really like the fact that Peter keeps coming out with new products, makes it fresh and versatile. I'd like to see something more oriented to blues and cleans (I know the Schmidt is there, and I'm after it, but it's pretty high gain still (compared to a Fender/vox etc....) and since we have a lot of high gainers, maybe we could have another low gainer.

hhhm, well all diezels can do low gain.... use channel 1 or 2 and adjust the preamp volume to taste for gain levels. simple :scared:
no to new low gain amp box, waste of time/resources, its already there.
there is a thousand amps that fit this segment...

Any new Diezel is good news. And if it slays the minisoldano it's even better.

Pesonally I'd love a small, simple, dynamic amp, something like the badger but with diezel tone.

19" rack stuff is small and easy to carry... Sorry Peter! Couldn't help myself. I love the big heads and don't think they're all that hard to truck around. Always interested in new Diezels though.

Yeah all diezels can do low gain and also clean, but even though I'm not an amp builder, there's something different from the FEELING of an amp when you play it that low gain amps (with few gain stages) it's just DIFFERENT than a good multi channel hi gainer with a good/awesome clean. It's incomparable. I don't know why, maybe Peter or Olaf or other amp builder can tell you why that is, but LOW GAINERS play much different than hi gainers, even if they have great cleans and great low gain tones.

Same you can say about hi gainers, there are more than plenty out there, yet Diezel has it's own magic going which is the reason you choose it over other hi gainers. I take you don't play much with cleans or low gain tones which is why it seems like to you it's not that important and there are thousands that fit this segment.

I think Peter has a GREAT touch for amp building, the tone, the quality of components, the look.....so I believe offering a low gainer pristine clean amp (vintage-y cleans I'd say even) wold capture a good market.

I don't know the sales numbers and the amount of Schmidts that have been sold but the thing I see with the schmidt is that it's not really a hi gainer perse, but low gain players visualize it as a medium/higher gainer instead of a clean platform/low gain amp. Don't get me wrong, I played it and I think it's an awesome amp, and Im looking fwd to exchanging my VH4 for it, but it's nor this nor that at this moment.

Maybe it's the marketer in me speaking, but I really REALLY see a market of players that would love to play a peter diezel creation that's not a rock amp, therefore eliminating the "Diezel = Metal/Hard Rock" stigma.

Lastly, I'm not trying to convince anyone, I know peter is a great builder, and businessman so he doesn't need my convincing, nor I'm stating that Diezels don't do good/great cleans/low gain tones......I just think it's all about presentation and supplying a market niche with the appropriate product.

I for one would LOVE a diesel amp (with it's magic, build quality, tone, reputation, looks, mojo) in a smaller more portable form, with excellent cleans (cleans that rival any two rock, Fuchs, etc) and a nice low gain, slightly power tube drive type of saturation on channel two, a nice reverb and loop. maybe mid cut since it's pretty handy and it's become a diezel trademark in amps nowadays. But it's just my humble opinion.

The "lunchbox" craze is just a solution looking for a problem. Unless there's a whole new market out there of little girls needing a lighter head so they can lift them into their Kia's.
I'd love to see a two channel rackmount head similar to Mesa's Racktifier.

+1

Also typically "low-gain"-amps distort very differently and are voiced differently from hi-gain-amps. A lot of people keep saying that the Diezel Ch2s are like a Plexi, but that is just concerning the amount of gain. They still react and feel like a high-gain-amp. You can still play blues and jazz on them and it sounds great, but a real JTM-45 among a lot of other low-gain-amps have attributes that fit the blues- or any "sweet-low-gain"-style a lot better.

It'd be great for a lot of us Diezeliers to have a lighter amp, but I find it important that it can still be used in a band, meaning its volume holds up to the snare. I haven't tried the Schmidt yet, but aren't 15-30 watts about the minimum, if you still want some headroom for a really clean tone in a band-context?

Well, the Schmidt is 30 watts if I believe and it's got A LOT more power and volume that you could ever need with a hard drummer.

I think a 20 - 30 amp in a small headshell (lets say schmidt at max but trying to go smaller but lighter in weight because the Schmidt is 22kg (almost 50lb)

With an exceptionally clean channel and a second channel that will react and behave like a cranked bassman, or a Two Rockish kinda drive or even like a JTM 45, it'd be the tits.

This might be the Beer or 6 talkin' but...I think Peter should take off and enjoy the family experience for a while as kids grow up too fast!... he's given us enough Diezel amps to play with for a while...for now!.
