So I dusted off an ancient pre-amp I had laying around...

I have sheet of sound, but it honestly just seems like a bunch of crazy runs/stretches. I don't know how to use any of it yet.

Kitty Hawk!!! :hys:
I had a Quattro I believe it was called for a few minutes.

I still have one......havent plugged it in for years....
Back in the day (way back) I used to slam the front end of an old silverface Deluxe Reverb plugged into an old Marhall cab....
Did dozens of gigs with that set up...

Nice. How bout a clip of it thru a real cab? ;) :D
Sounds close to the same. And I'm not about to get my ass off the couch these days...and the gear is at least 20 feet away from the couch!!!!

And no it's not an ADA.

Kasha Rockmod ??

or is it a trick question? POD?

Kasha is my final guess, but it would be cool if the answer was GT Trio or Bogner Fish

How about an ART thingee.....like the SGX or whatever it was?

I was thinking the same thing ... even though I haven't heard the clip yet .

I had the ART SGX2000 ... at least I think that's what it was ... very cool effects , tube preamp ..... but nothing close to metal distortion out of it

and there was a almost full second delay inbetween patch switches

my second guess is a Tubeworks preamp

3rd guess will be after I hear the clip

cool man, I played through one of those at a store 1 time and thought it was great! They have a pretty good eq section if I remember correct. Isn't is self powered too (i.e. you don't have to use a power amp)? That and the Cream Machine sounded better than any other pedal I've heard from H & K., I wish they would reissue them.

Yup has like a 1 watt power section.

I used to have one of those. Are you boosting it with anything Ed? And are you using the unit's built in speaker simulation?

I used to hit the front of the Metal Shredder with a Boss SD-1 but could never quite get it right for direct recordings.

Thanks
