And by the way, a big thanks to JB for hooking me up with a nice chap to make the trade. I think he goes by "espquade."

Hey Chris ,

Congrats , and let me know if it arrives on Sat.

Hey man, thanks! I'd like to hear your comparison of the Ocean and Aldrich mods! I bet you like that Cameron!

Cameron arriving Mon.
Will Mon. ever get here ?

This has to be the first time I have ever wanted a weekend to hurry up and be over

Man its all subjective and please dont take this the wrong way cause I dont want to piss on your getting a new amp parade but I cant stand the UL's. Like it has been said before the UL's are just dry dry dry and have no saturation IMHO. It grates on my nerves big time. Now the Deliverance on the other hand rocks major balls and I think when they are released think the Sig X's will be a better fit for me with the loop and sperate channels. Man Ive said all along if the Del's had a loop and the less/more was foot switchable it would have been game over for me. Will it fit you?? Maybe or maybe not. If you are a more Marshall tone person like me IMHO Im thinking you wont like it and the Del's just give me the Marshall meets bigness more so than the UL's. But you never know till you try in YOUR enviroment. Just my worthless .02

I'm gonna vote 6 months. You'll keep it 6 months. Seriously I'm betting you'll love it.

I didn't expect to receive it until Monday. Then FedEX estimated it would be here today (Saturday.) It showed up yesterday!!! I took it to band rehearsal last night and ran it through my Antone 2x12" cab with G12H30s. That's a super meaty sounding cab.

The amp sounded great! But this wasn't a real long rehearsal and I didn't experiment too much. I'm actually gigging tonight and this amp is going. I should get a real good feel for how it sounds tonight.

Thanks again, Kevin! This amp is MINT!

Cool! Glad you are digging it so far. Let us know how it sounds at the gig.

If you decide in the next week or two that you don't like it I may very well take it off your hands! Get a hold of me first if you decide you want to sell it!

Thanks man!!!

The Ultralead really shines in a band mix, which you've already begun to find out. Looking forward to your gig report :)

The lack of saturation may bother some people for lower level bedroom jamming though

In my experience with the amp the stiff feel and lack of saturation was there even at band levels. Now I really like responsive amps, you dont get more reponsive amps than a Roccaforte wich is my favorite amp Ive played in a band. That amp isnt forgiving nor compresed at all and I liked it alot for that and its huge tone. With that said IMHO the VHT just doesnt have that Marshall quack and chewiness that I like in other amps. VHT's are great amps and have thier own thing going on. Either you like it or you dont and up until the Del's, with exception to on of the original Pittbull 100's I had in 93, I havent liked many of the amps they offer because of the stiff dryness. But to say guys who think its dry are just sitting around jamming in thier bedroom is an awful big assumption.

Glad you got it , and Congrats again

I'm very happy your diggin it .

Cameron on it's way . Mon .

Sweet! Now we need clips damnit! Clips! :D

I haven't made clips in a long, long time and probably won't get around to it anytime soon. My PC acts up a little when trying to record clips. Not sure what the deal is...

I may have to get me a VHT slant Fatbottom 4x12 cab. LOL

Well of course! Everything has to match. :D Im like that too even though I hate to admit it.

i want a ultra lead pretty bad right now, i wished i had kept mine.

I'm not really bad about that or anything, but I keep thinking I need a slant cab for gigging (to hear myself better) and of course, the head(s) would look great on top of a VHT slant. :)

LOL I hear ya. Ive got some kinda of disorder I think or its the artist in me.

Everyone hears things differently, no worries :) I didn't mean to convey that I was making sweeping generalizations

I don't know Chris....aren't you a big Marshall guy? The Ultralead will sound nothing like a Marshall...

I'm pretty sure I'm alone in hearing some Marshall qualities in the VHT amps. I've never seen anyone else make that statement, so I'm probably crazy! :loco:
FWIW, I always used to think of it as a hot rodded old Hiwatt, however the Deliverance to me does have some of the qualities I dig about old Marshalls.

Last night was the first gig with the UL. I used the following setup:

- VHT Ultra-Lead
- Bogner UberKab (V30s & 75s)
- Gibson R8 LP

Small pedalboard with the following:

- Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+
- X2 Digital Wireless
- Boss TU2 Tuner
- BYOC Script Phaser

IT RAWKED!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was getting some KILLER tone! I used channel 2 for an AC/DC type of tone and channel 3 for high gain rock stuff. I also switched the graphic on for solos as a volume boost.

So far, I'm absolutely digging it!

Very cool :)

I like to use the graphic for getting a more modern type tone sometimes (for rhythms), but I usually turn it off when I'm doing lead work.
