Can you chain E2s together?
Klark":1khtipyz said:Obviously you can use an E2 with an M4, but will the E2's loop function switcher thingy switch your M4 properly?
Or was the loop switcher function thingy built strictly for effects loops on amps?

I have a slot free in my rack and 2 extra modules would be cool
sure! you can use it with anything..
No - I wondered because the M4 doesn't have an FX loop, although by the fact that it's just a preamp you could insert the E2 after the M4
Is that correct?
From what I understand it'd be like this: the e2 has a switcher in which you can put your m4 in, so it would allow you to use the e2 going to a poweramp, or use the m4 going into a poweramp. I'm guessing you would plug your guitar into the e2 and let that take care of the switching.
The reason they said it can work with any head with an effects loop is because heads with effects loop basically allow you to separate the preamp section and the poweramp section, so you can switch between the e2 and the amps preamp section, and either signal would go into the amps poweramp. If you wanted to use one with a head that didn't have an effects loop you would need to buy additional gear. If your amp has an effects loop, or you are using it with a rack preamp, then no extra gear needed.

So, hypothetically (wink wink), if I have a head without an effects loop, what extra gear would I need to use the E2? Being able to use my existing head and have the option of two Egnater dual modules is very enticing.
Bucksears":liwotov9 said:Yep. I've got a Super Reverb (reissue) that I had a head cab custom built for, then had the OT swapped out for a Mercury Magnetics tweed OT for a 4ohm output. Also has a tube/SS rectifier toggle, works on the fly; no power-down required first.
Does the job nicely - I guess it could be modded further for an effects loop. I'll ask my resident amp wizard about that.
E2 is a stand alone pre amp. It also integrates with our MOD 50 to allow you to have 2 more modules. It will be controlled via midi and will have a 8 button footswitch.
It will also work in any series loop. Take your JCM 800 with a loop and plug it into the loop and our E2 has a built in loop switcher allowing it to work with any loop! It will street in July for $1200 with 2 modules.

Hi Jeff.....just a quick question......I understand that the switching for 2 modules would use 4 buttons, but why are there 8?
I'm thinking about using an E2 in the loop of my Naylor SD60......Vox and DLX modules, along with Naylor gain tone.
Thanks!

How about a 26 button pedal or a module pedal to add on button sections sort of like a Bradshaw pedal but for mod switching. Start with a 8 bank pedal and have a linking system to keep adding on locking them together.
You need one button for EVERY tube in your rig that comes out to aproximately 127Jeff Hilligan":3haqk1tl said:jlbaxe":3haqk1tl said:Jeff Hilligan":3haqk1tl said:You need 8 if using it in conjunction with a MOD 50! We will also have a 4 button FS available for situations like yours.
