...how does everybody like their Cameron amps? I know it's been a few years since I complained that Cameron just took people's money and/or amps for mods or deposits, but his defenders here assured me that everything would be worked out in a matter of weeks and that things were looking up and amps would be shipping any day. This was several years ago, so I assume that everything is good now and Cameron amps are shipping, right?

I'm in the market for another amp and figured I'd pick up a Cameron CCV and see what all the fuss is about. What's the wait time if I send my money today?

If I pay for a CCV today what do you think my odds are of getting in it say 90-120 days? Do you have some secret for getting faster service, or have build times improved that much? I'd put the amp on a credit card right away so I always have the option of cancelling the charge if the amp wasn't shipped within the time estimated by Cameron.

I love my CCV. Got it a few weeks ago. My wait could only be measured in months, not years  The amp is versatile and each channel has it's own tone, yet still has the inherent Cameron tone/feel to it. It is hard to say which channel is my favorite since the clean channel rips with a pedal in front and the high gain channel with max clipping is earth moving. Combine the channels with resonance and presence knobs and switches and the amp is hard to beat...let alone find a peer. I like the CCV so much, I am contemplating selling my beloved Jose'. ;)

I'm Glad You Got It Sorted Man!

I LOVE MINE SO MUCH! IT IS THE BEST ROCK/METAL AMP THERE IS PERIOD!

I just Really want you to get a Matching Cab with at least 2 CL80's in it!!!

Dave,
thought you had the CCV for sale?
You are in a WIN/WIN situation either way my friend with the Jose or the CCV.

So the amps aren't really shipping, just sort of a hit or miss gamble if you send money?

NO! They ARE. And Like I've always maintained through all the Drama on this Site, He's not cheating anyone... BUT! You have to pay,
And be prepared to wait as long as it takes... Maybe a few Weeks, Maybe more, it depends where he's at, and what's going on, and how he feeling.

If you pay, and get in line, after the ones ahead of you are shipped, he will work on yours exclusively untill it's done... Just don't complain if the timeline
doesn't work out exactly according to schedule. You have to see if there are any, or how many amps he has ahead of your order at the time of the purchase.

The Tree Part I was referring to is the Credit Cards... Which he's not going to take.

Eh...I want a CCV, and I don't mind the price. Or even a wait of several months. But at this time I'll search for a used CCV.

The guitar amp world already has an Amexander Howard Dumble, I see no reason to assist Mark Cameron in his attempts to protray himself as the next Dumble, and I don't think he will ever succeed in achieving that status which he seeks. All he's doing is making himself irrelevant by pissing off 99% of his potential customers. I support his right to be a terrible businessman, just not with my dollars.

Still love all of the clips of the CCV I've heard and hope to find a used one. Not in a big rush, so I guess I'll keep an eye out for one. Gotta be damn hard to find used since so few actually exist.

Dude...

You are waaay off base... Mark is a Humble Guy... Not a Dumble guy. He's not a business man, he's an amp genius. He also has some health, and personal issues. He's Not trying to "Portray" himself as anything else than what he is.

Your opinion is your opinion, but it is not based on facts... It's based on assumption. He's not seeking status. He has worked on all your Idols amps. He took over Jose Arrendondo's work. and finished some amps that were left undone when he died. He has been at this for 25 years. And his amps are cherrished by most who own them. I know MY CCV is a Joy to me, and am happy everytime I play it... It will never leave my hands.

There are a lot of amp builders out there sure, Bogner, Fortin, Dave Friedman which have a more conventional business sense, perhaps your money would be better served with one of them?

All I know is that for those willing to wait, and know what they want, and won't except less... IMO There is only Guru to go to.

Best,

I don't doubt Mark's talent building amps one bit. But there are numerous stories of people sending amps or money to him literally years ago and they can't get so much as a response, or Mark lies and tells them their amp is shipping and it never ships. I was hoping that e had his "personal issues" under control enough for those things to be resolved, but unfortunatlely it seems that he's still indulging in his personal issues at the expense of his customers.

I wish I could join his list of customers, but based on his track record and what people are still saying, I'm not confident that I would ever see an amp or my money. His amps are supposed to be the best, but they can't be the best until the customer actually receives the amp. No amp is worth the risk. He'll, even Dumble delivers faster and communicates better, and his amps are worthy investments even if you don't like the tone.

I think I'll pass again and look for the rare used CCV.

Remember.... You are only getting ONE side of the story... A lot of people come hear to instigate. If you have a current CCV Paid on order I know of no one presently that has suffered a closed door to Mark, In fact I think Dave will back me up that he had no problem talking to Mark even after he recieved it with questions, etc.

But you are right that buying one used is a certain way of getting what you want on time... When you find one.

I'll keep my eye's/ears pealed for you!

the never ending revolving door.... There is no excuse for people not getting amps back in a timely fashion. He is a one man operation, and a very cool dude, but has had bad luck and has had numerous issues that have constantly set him back. PERIOD

I'm in contact with him often,
But I will say this, I'm just sick and tired of catching flack when I am the guy helping MANY people out, so i've kept my mouth shut and will continue to, but it's always me who people come to when they want or need something! Alot of people don't have a clue, makes me laugh actually.

Marks amps rock , and he is a great dude and a good friend but don't get involved if you can't accept the situation for what it is = a one man operation , not an amplifier manufacturer. I am an honest person, and I can tell you he isn't out to BURN anyone, and to anyone waiting he is working his way towards making sure you're amp will get to you as soon as possible.

 I gotta back up what Tony, Dave, and Nick all posted. Mark does what he does. His whole situation is really not that exclusive.
Here is a perfect example only ....what a shock this example is on a Huge scale. German cars, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi, even VW all are what they are. I know that for a fact the market involving ALL OF THESE because they are german is a SCREW YOU MARKET.
I tell my customers, you don't got to like it, but you either accept it because you want the product or you move the fuck on.
Or you suffer!
Either way you will not change the way things are, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WANT THE PRODUCT.
I don't gotta endorse it but moving along in a peacefull, decent manner no matter which way I choose to go with it.............. ;) Is the only way.
Trust me. :)
So all things considered, Mark has a narrowed market for a highly desired product line.
I know for a fact that I have NO PROBLEM FINDING OUT WHO IS GETTING WHAT AMP WHEN. This being the truth I find it hard to believe Mark would be trying to screw anyone over being that accessable.
Nick has ALWAYS TRIED TO HELP GUYS.
And yet back last year guys started to take whacks at him.
This was FUCKING WRONG. Way Wrong! :gethim:
Dave paid for his amp and the time frame got longer than promised, but it came. And really not horrific an extended amount of time. Tony got his just the same.
So Sit back and think it all over, then choose.
Hell you gotta do what you gotta do. GOOD LUCK!

I'm on the fence, because no way am I paying $4500 for an amp, so that probably means wait for a new one or do without. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I had a chance to talk with him for a while last week. I have absolutely no problem saying that Mark has been nothing but honest and dependable for everything Ive gone to him for to date, and I have allways walked away beyond happy with the amps Ive had him work on. You can believe all the dipshits online that exagerate and make shit up or you could try having your own experience with him.

A new one costs $3,000... paid 100% up front. So are you gonna step up to the plate...

I am ready to buy a CCM

I would have no problems with it. Mark is honest as the day is long. You don't even have to ask, he will tell you anyway. Look at the other builders wait times...6 weeks on the Marsha, 3 months on my Naked, Fortin now 8 months. I don't want an amp built on an assembly line in 2 days.
