So the Marshall 1 watts come out in 11 week periods

I played the JTM, JMP, and JCM models at GC yesterday. These things are cool as hell. If I had the extra money I would have walked out with one yesterday. The only problem would have been which one?!?!? They all mimiced their respective amps quite well for what they are.

1 watt into a 112 cab would struggle against a full on drummer, but jamming with a reserved drummer, a loud sound system or someone's edrums, this would be gold. The .1 watt setting is perfect for late night jamming without waking the family. I had a blast playing the JMP combo in .1 watt mode.

I don't know what the DSL or JVM sounds like, but the first three are all killer little amps.

The danger of shooting off one's mouth without trying something.
Functional? Absolutely. Novelty item? I suppose that's subject to opinion but these are far more than novelty. And believe it or not, they are easily loud enough to do a small gig...they get a lot of mileage out of 1 watt.

So you've tried them? What did you think?

I've played the first two and I think they're awesome. They sound great but the key for me is that they also feel and respond "right". They're way louder than I ever could have imagined...when cranked up they're loud enough to piss off the neighbors. There's really nothing bad I could say about these...great Marshall tone without the staggering volume. What's not to like? These are a big winner IMO.

That's what I thought too. The tone and feel is there. I mean, it's not the same as plugging into a 100 watt head, of course, but wow did these guys sound and feel great at a reasonable volume.

Did you try them out in the low mode as well? When I first plugged in, it was on low mode and I was thinking that it was way too quite. I found out there was a high/low mode and high mode is quite loud...even moreso through a 112 cab. What was cool though, was that it sounded and felt pretty good in low mode as well...great for plugging in late night and jamming away.

I kind of like the fewer knobs and features as well. Plug in, dial the knobs you got to taste and play. This was the first time I've left a guitar shop excited and with an itch in a long time.

The JCM is exactly like you'd expect in respect to the JTM and JMP models. They totally got the character of these classic amps in a tiny package.

JCM

I think the JTM vid was all .1 watt and the JCM was the combo.

The kid sitting on the stool in that last one was funny as hell.
