look, this ain't a pissing match - Dave's amps sound fucking great, I'm just saying for the pricetag, howzabout some quality build to go with that tone. I've been pretty jacked on Dave's amps - his earlier mods, and to date my fave, the JJ100 w/JBE MV mod.

Diezel uses CNC/stamped aluminum powder coated grills with bolts/pre-recessed sockets in their assembly - it's just a German thing... They're internals are utterly impeccable and totally next level quality. And their tone - whilst different than most (any??) Friedman - are revered all the same, nonetheless.

The screws are immaterial, the tone is what matters. If you’re whining about screws your priorities make you useless for guitar amp critique and more suited to furniture reviews. That being said these amps are fantastic, the tone switches, unless you’re an absolute twat, should provide you with the sound you’re after and then some. I’m an aged chunk of turd who remembers the search for THE tone, usually Vh1 brown and its lacking clones, lacking mainly the essential ingredient, which was Eddie, This search was basically having your Marshall modded by whomever you could contact locally that could decipher the amp mod descriptions contained within whatever form of media you could lay your hands on preinternet and hope that said description was accurate and not an Eddie gaslighting campaign.
Anyway, the point is that currently the access to epic tone machines is unparalleled. The constant bitching is mostly folks who expect the amp to correct their shitty techniques and essentially turn their excremental offerings into gold. Practice is the best sonic improvement and any inadequacies you experience are your own, not your gear. Listen to Spanish Fly from Van Halen 2 and blame your gear for your issues.
