So what amp(s) do you currently own that don’t get as much play time these days compared to when you first bought it. And why.

Just curious. I find myself in a quandary sometimes. I buy the next amp fix to satisfy my tone journey only to find yes it’s a awesome amp but end up not playing it as much as I did originally.

Myself I usually sell them to fund other gear acquisitions.

I bought my 6505+ and never really played the thing much at all, I just can’t stand the feel of it. I really need to mess with it more

I only have 4 amps, and they all get play time.

Its more likely that they'll get sold because of medical bills rather than that I dont play the amp lol

A bought a new JVM410 for a super low price . At the price I thought it’s got to be worth that . Not a fan . I’m sure playing my Wizard and Diezels hurt it’s chances of sound good perhaps . Just couldn’t gel with it

I still play my 72 and newly acquired 67 JMP often...but if I'm honest my newest purchase, an 88 2205 half stack is my daily player. It might be the best low volume amp I've ever had...until my Naylor gets here hopefully soon. I figured for 1400 the half stack is easily a 'flip for profit' candidate...but I can't stop playing it.

I'm not playing my Skeleton Key or my Mark IV lately. I got a KSR Ares and played that for about a month or two then I got a 6505+ I've been playing a lot lately.

The only reason I'm not playing the other amps is entirely because I only have one cab and sometimes it's a headache to swap them out

My mark III was my main recording and gigging amp for 10-12 years. It doesn’t get much time anymore. I find myself playing my Splawn SS all the time.

I have a Friedman JJ Jr. and let my stepson borrow it for a show. I have my 5150-III EL34 (which I'll be selling soon) and my EVH 5150-III 6L6 50 watt and both are much better for band practice, more versatile, etc.

The 5150III and the triple rectifier not in view.

Pic explains why for most part.

I had a 5150 III 100 watt. I hated that amp. Could never get anything special out of it.

Sounds like you need one of these...

I bought a Delisle switcher about 6 months back. I have 2 cabs & multiple amps. My amps get more play time now that I don't have to mess around with swapping cables and can easily select between them. Changed my life; so much more convenient.

Life is weird like like.. change is the only constant.
I said I’d never sell all of what I sold.
Interestingly, I’ve learned that health is the real wealth with old(er) age.
Mental or physical?, financial, emotional.. ARGH!!
Decisions!!!!
I wish you some good news and your health care costs get sorted & your back to ripping!!
Believe me dude, I feel ya, I just spent $16k
on my teeth and lined up for $6k more in hardcore dental work. F’n brootz man.
I’m not getting dentures, NO MATTER WHAT,
not at 50 anyways.
Fire in the f’n hole man!!

I'm selling my Silver Jubilee combo and head. I have two combos (Friedman DS and Marshall Astoria) I'm still on the fence over. One might get sold, one will definitely be kept. The rest get lots of play time at full volume when the wife isn't at home. I have regular gigs and band practices on the calendar too. So they will continue to get hard workouts.

I feel like 4 amps is the magic number l, sweet spot and after that it becomes unmanageable for most.

My latest JCM900 MKIII acquisition became a waste and unused for me so I sold it. While I regret it because they are so hard to find and acquire these days, at the same time why? I hardly ever touched it

My DSL 100 doesn’t get much action since I got my 3 Blankenship amps, but it is still a great sounding amp.

Mesa Dual Rectifier Roadster. It has every tone-shaping knob, switch and button you could ask for, but it sounds like a Mesa, not a Marshall...
