This a 1974 Super Lead with no mods and all original transformers. The necessary caps have been updated but you'll see the original mustard caps all over the board along with the legendary pink wire. Four speaker outputs in the back are stock and likely imply it was a USA export model. Some obvious dings and nicks on the shell, but this thing is in great shape for a 50 year old.
I had Dale Lisle from DJL Audio give it a once over this summer to make sure it looked up to snuff for him and fixed up an old three prong installation and changed the power tubes.
It is extremely, unfathomably loud. I will not lie to you and tell you this is a practical amp. This thing is a beast meant to level an unsuspecting audience or at least warm up a small house when plugged into a loadbox. But there ain't much like a Plexi power section overdriving.
Given its condition and lack of mods/molestation, this is an increasingly rare beast. $3000 Shipped CONUS via PP. Local pickup in Durham NC can be negotiated for a lower price.
I’m always down to hear trades (including +/- cash) but I am literally drowning in gear. That said, I am currently obsessed with getting a Mesa Mark (preferably 4 or earlier) in the house.
More photos of guts on reverb.
