Did'nt you go full circle with the Kemper also ?

I had a kemper twice...still love it but found I liked it better when running through a cab and not FRFR. Wasn't perfect for me though...I also sell profiles with a studio partner so that's why I used it a lot.

Rich , I was close to getting my second kemper recently..I love it and the axe-fx..I keep going back to tube heads after a few months though , its like being reborn ! hahaha..Enjoy the the 5153 !

I've come to the conclusion that there are plenty of great tools available...I just prefer the old fashioned kind for now.

I can relate to what you have been through. I have been willing to give up on tube amps just because i have been playing them with load boxes and ir's. I don't care what anyone says playing a tube amp with a cab cannot be replaced.

I'm not as big of a fan of guitars and tube amps from China, but electronics are not as huge of a deal to me. Now, if the next Fractal product bursts into flames like a Samsung Galaxy 7, that would suck....unless the heat improves tone of course.

The live clip you posted has me interested in the FX 8.

I don't use a lot of effects, but I'd like a little pedal board; just don't want to chore with selecting the shit to go on said pedal board.

The FX 8 seems like a nice, easy solution.

Oh that doesn't bother me. Electronics all come from there anyway. Excited that I can pick one up cheaper now though!

For as little as I use a wah the FX8 works fine. It actually sounds pretty decent.

I think it depends on the amps loop. I tried the Axe-2 and AX8 on a Mesa Electra Dyne and it was a disaster. AX8 on my Mesa Mark IV and it works perfect. All tones are coming from the amp, all effects from the AX8.

The AX8 into the return of the amp is ok, but the real amp sounds better.


I like the versatility of the AX8 but, gun to my head, and the Mark IV would stay and the AX8 would go.
