Probably regret this and possibly change my mind when I come to my senses but I’m looking to sell my MTL MK2 50 watt. This amp is super clean with the Vader package. Currently has EL34’s and does NOT come with a Foot switch. I am not sure on year but will check into that. Absolutely killer amp but GAS is killing me.

I will trade for an Uber Ultra in black plus cash on your end.

-$4300 Shipped/Lower 48. PP F&F or add fees if necessary.

Will get better pics as well. Thanks.

How did they compare? I’m interested in the Uber too… but I’m not selling a Wizard for one. Lol
The Wizard is more open, has better clarity, less noisy, is much easier to dial in, and much more organic sounding for a lack of a better term.
The UU is a cool amp, just wasn’t my thing. It’s very modern and compressed, with a produced, synthetic tone to my ears. I spent entirely too much time unsuccessfully tweaking it to not sound like that. There’s definitely good tones in there, and it’s very versatile, but in comparison a Wizard will get you there much more easily and convincingly.
It’d be a good amp for really modern prog or djenty type stuff, but even for that I think a Wizard would do that better.
I just scored my first Wizard (MTL 100) a month ago, so I’m hardly an authority on them, but I must say it’s a pretty special amp and worthy of the hype they receive.

I almost think the hell razor and Uber ultra could be fairly similar from what I heard on clips... I’d be interested in shooting them out. The mtl and modern classics are hard rock amps to me, and get into metal territory with a boost and do it very well… but not for the most brutal stuff like the Uber ultra. Wizards are fairly simple on their controls in my experience, the Uber ultra has way more stuff going on. I’ll even admit every time I’m playing it I’m finding a new tone to it. The one thing I’ll say about the Uber ultra is it mics up very easy, and just sits in a mix right. Wizards do this as well. Lots of other amps REALLY struggle in the 300-700 hz range with either way too much and being honky, or way too little and you can’t hear them in a mix. Really just depends what music you want to play in my opinion.

I dig my wizard playing thrash and all that, but when I’m playing cannibal corpse or something of that variant and want just a huge wall of sound the Uber is that. There is no time I’d choose my wizard for modern metal over my Uber.

I know we all get into the talk of compression and stuff, and compression isn’t a bad thing… if you’re playing with a band you don’t want an absurd amount of dynamics on your amp anyway. You don’t hear records that when someone palm mutes it blows your speakers out, just not how it works. All that stuff has compression on it.

Yeah I can definitely see how they are different amps for sure. My playing style leans more towards modern metal. The MTL with a boost is definitely no slouch and it sounds so damn good. Maybe I just need both.

The 50 watt still punches like you’d expect from a Wizard and definitely hangs with 100 watt amps I’ve had.

Jumping in here, there is almost nothing in common with the Uber ultra and the hell razor. Both are absolutely top tier , but to say one is better is a personal preference thing- Uber ultra doesn’t have the Marshall voicing that all Wizard have and is more compressed, but not in a bad way. Also the Uber ultra is infinitely more versatile- and has absolutely gorgeous cleans. They are 2 of my 3 favorites I’ve ever played, but the Uber ultra is definitely not something to look down on if you are a Wizard person

Really really tempting here but me too placed an order with axepalace for a UU ..... it taken the toll on me pretty steep lol lets if am still able to get lucky again....

Anyway ya might wanna order the UU and hold on to your MTL and do a comparison side by side.... ya could be ended up keeping both or sell either one...

I have an Omega Granophyre on order so I didn’t want to throw more cash out for the UU. Gas is a bitch, haha

I disagree lol- the Granophyre can only do one thing but it does it really well
To each their own, but the UU to me does what the omega models want to do, but does it better and has more usable tones available. It can do what the rev green uber does and do something else entirely. Had both the obsidian and granophyre and I couldn’t get rid of either one fast enough. Under a mic both struggled in that 300-700hz range and the top end was pretty nasty not in a good way. But that’s just me.

I can’t figure out what to think about the omega stuff people hate it or love it so I guess I will have to buy the UU a hell razor and the omega thing, screw it I’ll throw in a Larry and an Odin from red stuff

What do you have now ?

What do you have now ?
sadly none of those cool amps (uber ultra, larry amplification, hell razor or anything wizard or omega ampworks)

randall thrasher
meas mark iv
peavey 6505
kaos hatred custom
single rec modded by hermansson,
v2-denoggizer
mi amplification-megalith gamma
mesa badlander rack
that weird custom ukrainian amp that costs literally nothing BSGW custom ravage, which despite it's cheaper feel ie, headshell and tolex etc, is a really good sounding amp

but i was planning on getting the Uber next just saving pennies etc for one
would prefer to get the uber used but that'll be a while

as for the wizard stuff, i have been hesistant because of the talk of it not being the metal djent style shit that i want like so hell razor may change things

in all actuality i should probably hit up red stuff prior to the Uber, but i stll need time for money to be more available
