Had a few questions on this:

LOOP IN/OUT: With the loop out the SLO is little bit more aggressive and tighter , minimally more pronounced low-end. But IMHO one would only notice this going back-and-forth with the toggle switch , A-B’ing,with nothing else playing in the background or in a mix.
I certainly would not send an amp in for this modification.

DEPTH: fun but certainly far from needed.
 
When the SLO loop (like the Dumble loop) is used and loaded down with some impedance the whole thing smoothes out. I sometimes (when using the line out to run effects through a separate cab) will still put a 15' guitar cable in the loop.
