i cant think of an amp that didnt fit my playing style better than the twin jet dude....listen to the vids of my playing .... what do you think lol ????

i just got tired of not having a dedicated clean channel.....i ended up liking the overdrive on the first channel alot more than the 2nd channel and i didnt like having to start twisting knobs everytime i wanted to play on a clean setting. im more interested in playing guitar and not having to fuck around with setting up an amp every 2 seconds

....and i dont like/use boost or eq pedals, i dont get how anyone would bother throwing a boost in front of an uber, it has so much gain and is tight as shit when you set it up right

now i have a mark five...i can dial in VERY similar tones and than some on it, plus all the modes on the 3rd channel are voiced differently and are alot more fun to mess around with, add the 2nd channel that has alot of gain and gets brutal with a different voicing, and the first channels AMAZING cleans and i have my ultimate amp

in all honesty i dont think the uber is worth the money they go for new AT ALL....look for a used one for under 2 grand, ive seen them go for 1400-1600 for the blue revs these days

ubers are cool amps but id much rather have a mark 5 and an extra grand in my pocket...plus i feel the mark 5 is alot more amp for less money

I actually have 4 amps through a amp head switcher. One single channel Marshall JMP100, Rev Blue 2 channel, XTC 3 channel and Mesa MK III 3 channel, so I basically have a 9 channel set up. I do not play out or with anyone at the moment but I play many styles and allows me to have a free range of creativeness when I want. I dont really use pedals in that setup but do with others.

If I played out I would probably just grab my Marshall JMP100 or Cameron Rev Blue, most likely the later. My Rev Blue has a Shiva clean and a boost mod  But I find myself playing the 20th A XTC the most.

This was a great read :2thumbsup:

I'm not taking sides here, but for whatever reason, your post made me :hys:

It's the epitome of 'straight up', and I loved the no bullshit tone to it. ANYWAY, whatever, ya, the TJ is a kickass amp, and it's an expensive amp. I had one too - loved it - really loved it - but I found it limiting and whaddya know?!?! I have 4 channel, 3 channel, and a soon-to-be arriving 4 channel pre + multi voiced poweramp. I like 'variety'. No harm no foul. The TJ is a kickass beast, but it's a bit primitive when compared to some other beasts out there.

what was so funny about it???

all i was trying to say is how i prefer an amp with at least 3 channels for some variety, yea the uber is great but when it comes down to it that amp only shines on the 2nd channel and the blue revs cleans suck and i think that fist channel in sorta unuseable so what would anybody spend 2600 on an amp that can only do one sound.

the twin jet is better only cuz of the first channel, if they switched the first channel with the 2nd channel and made the first channel a sorta shiva clean that amp would just be godly and well worth the money. the cleans were do-able but still kinda meh without any pedals in the loop to sweeten it up.

ive owned a shit ton of mesas and i would never say i got bored with the sound of them, even the ones that had only 2 channels

First of all, just to make it clear, I'm not bashing or critisizing you by any mean,
I just think differently and disagree with your opinion, which is ok, nothing wrong with that.

So, I said you didnt like the amp enough, you said you did, but you actually preferd the 1st channel gain tones on the 2nd, now, to me, the 1st channel high gain capabilities are a great bonus, but it isnt the reason to buy that amp, if I wasnt really specifically into the monster voicing of channel 2(which I believe only the uber can produce) I wouldnt buy the amp.

The uber will always be focused on what's going on on channel 2 in it's design and if you're not loving it to death you have no reason to buy an uber, hence why I think you decided selling it, if you loved channel 2 as your main tone I dont you would have sold it.

To me the uber produces the rhythm tone I wanted hear from each amp I've ever tried and I couldnt take it there, I've had a rivera knucklehead reverb which is to me one of the most versatile amps ever and can cover every style of music you'll ever think of, the problem was that I tried to make it sound like an uber, it didnt, it wasnt suppoused to.

If you like the mark 5 for what it is than go for it, sure it has more stuff for it's price and can produce alot more sounds than the uber, but I've allready been there, I've allready bought an amp with alot of channels and switches and modes that can do million things, to me, it didnt do what I wanted it to do, no matter what I did, different cabs, different tubes, different guitars.

I had a very specific image of my tone in my head that it didnt fit to, if the mark 5 fits to your's than you found your amp, if not, you'll porobably get bored with it too after a while.

In the end of the day, most of us wont use so many types of sounds when we plug into an amp and the thing that will keep us being happy with our gear, in my opinion, is finding the amp that fits our "vision" to our sound, an amp that fits to the way we want to be voiced as players.

That's why I'm buying an uber and not a herbert, invader, roadster, mark 5 and the list goes on..
Sure it's nice that I could dial funky\jazzy\classic fender cleans from my rivera's clean channel
and could cover any possible genere with the od channels, but I maybe did it 3-4 times during the year and a half I've owned that amp, and most of this period, I was busy with making the od channels sounding like another amp.

Same thing with the Invader I tried lately.

Just my 2 Cents.

all i said was i sold the amp cuz i was bored with 2 channels

how is that an opinion ....... out of all the positive comments i typed in the post and the video links i put up of the amp all you responded to was that line

LOL man, that's exactly what I ment by saying that I'm not against you or anything,
I really thank you for your videos and info, it's great and I appreciate your will to help me.

I just responded to that little issue cause I found myself in your exact opposite situation and sold a 3 channel amp because it worked for me, I'm just giving you my experience on 2 channel amps vs multi channel amps.

Didnt mean to insult you or anything, sorry man.
