That's a sweet deal.

Here I am with no amp and no money. Looking back aviation was a shitty line of work to get into.

Shit I dont know

my drummer gave it to me so he'll have somewhere to sit when he comes over :D

does the XXX have anything done to it? I know a buddy of mine swapped some tubes, and I know some people have been able to mod theirs to take out some fizz....

no mods....the trick is to put a low gain tube in V1 to drop out alot of the fizz..

It's got EL34s in it right now too.

It's a kickass amp, of all the amps I've had over the last 2 years (and it's ALOT) I've kept this one the longest, it's just plain badass.

frets are in pretty good shape, could probably use a dressing but not bad for it's age, still plenty o' life in 'em. It's an old beater, but sounds great, plays even better.

I"m borrowing my buddies stock XXX now, so I'm familiar enough with the XXX sound, but I know his other one he did some stuff too with the tubes and such. My main amp is the JSX, but I used to run the JSX and XXX together in a dual amp setup...sounded awesome...

did you customize the faceplate of the amp?

Just masked off the logo and painted it flat black. I think it looks better than the silver. :D

yeah I agree...the one I have is the diamond plate, my buddy has the custom ladies plate....yours would match my JSX with the chrome plates off really well...

Looks cool to me. Don't hold it for me or anything like that, but I'm contemplating getting back into songwriting and home recording (on the cheap.) But it may take me a while to sell something and plan out what I need to make it happen.

No sweat Chris, just let me know, if I still have it she's yours. One of the best "bang for the buck" basses out there.....American made for barely over $100. :D

You've seriously made my day!

Just when I was getting ready to leave to get a Pocket POD, I saw this!

And, I just ordered some new Studio Monitors for my sessions next week!

SCORE(s)!!!!!!

I have some serious interest in the XXX.

So, I've heard some really good things about them. I've never personally heard one, but it's gotta sound better than my Crate. So, in comparison to a Mesa Dual or SIngle, similar, or extremely disimilar? I think I'm just to a point where I just want to get rid of my Crate. I hate that thing. Speaking of which, how's the noise floor? The crate is ridiculously noisy.

I wouldn't compare it to the Recto, I personally dont like the Recto, I LOVE the XXX. different animal IMHO. It's not noisy, you'd need a noise gate at louder volumes but that kind of a given with most amps.....

Let me know if you want it.
