Have any of you guys tried a Splawn guitar? I've seen a few posted recently that looked great.

I remember seeing Scott build guitars when I was a kid before he started building amps so I imagine that he has quite a bit of experience. I had some stuff pop up over the past few weeks where I sold off a good amount of stuff and now I'm feeling a bit understocked.

I'm planning on adding another Chubtone and a Mayones Regius but kinda wanting to try something new. I have a bonus coming in October so I was going to treat myself. I was considering a Wizard but a big part of my brain tells me that I will end up selling it cause that's a lot of coin to put into an amp for my application.

Any other small brands that you guys are digging these days? I really love my Aviator but they went up considerably in price over the year so to where they are a bit more than I would want to pay.

Check out Lacello guitars on Facebook. Great pricing for custom instruments. The one I have is an absolute beast.
I heard about Lacello from this site (maybe you, even? Lol). Seeing as he's relatively local to me I started looking them up, I've got to try out quite a few now. If I didn't have so much tied up in my guitars whilst also eyeing a new amp, I'd definitely snag one.

They're beautifully crafted guitars, remind me a lot of Mayones.

Splawn guitars look great. Plus they are easy to mod the head stock to look like a fender. 🤣

I just spoke to him. Super quick build times. What is the neck profile like?
It depends on what you want. I honestly should have went more traditional but this one is similar to a Caparison if I recall. An asymmetrical carve and a super shredder radius. Again, I think he is pretty flexible, so you can get whatever (in the modern realm).

Yeah it was probably me LOL not many are out in the wild. I definitely want to do another build when I can with him.

I remember reading David McNaught was building the necks and bodies and Scott was assembling them. Not sure if that's true or not?

So he said if we figured out the specs he would schedule me for October with a Nov delivery date. I'm really tempted. This is the one I'm considering

I have a Splawn guitar. And Chubtones, Charvels, a Luxxtone, Wayne… the Splawn is as good quality as any of them, but to me, the Luxxtone and especially the Wayne are just a smidge more to my liking. That Wayne neck is just unbelievable. YMMV.

I have only worked with a few builders, but he is by far the best and most customer oriented IME. I doubt you will have any regrets deciding to go with Lacello.

Back on topic :D

Splawn guitars ARE pretty sexy. A little out of my price range though.

Oh man, that's great. I have not ran into too many people that own a Splawn guitar.

He has done a lot of sparkle paint lately, I will find the one I like - but if I could order one today it would probably be something like this:

Come again? They don't look fendery to me? I need to find a headstock pic.

In the mean time here is some more porn.

I own that one. Pretty much like an older charvel. I like it but hardly play it much.
Been kicking around the idea of letting it go.

^ I was just kind of messing around. It would def be harder to glue the rest of the radius on than lopping it off

Hmmm. Let me know.
Maybe that would be too fanboi'ish

Have you checked out Kauer Guitars? They’ve got some cool options and might offer the uniqueness you're after.
