I got a nice Japanese 60's Strat and I was hell-bent on throwing the Fury set in.. Any others? Not a JB Jr. fan, Hot Rails might be a bit loose. Damned if those Furys don't sound good as shit though.

This is an MIJ JV 60's Modified. It's pretty sick. Nicer than most USA's costing much more!

My favorite stacked single coils are hands down the ‘80’s Bill Lawrence ones and they’re not too pricy or anything. The vintage Schaller ones are great too and cheap. The Duncan’s and Dimarzio’s aren’t worth bothering with in comparison imo

At least for the neck and middle position I still generally like most just a traditional ‘50’s or early ‘60’s style strat pickup and that also imo best captures what I like about yngwie’s tone at his best. You just need a good boost type pedal to get there

I've got the Fury's and YJM pots in mine. Neck is silky and fluid, the bridge is biting and spanky. They are all wired differently so it's best to get the 3 set. The fast volume pot is a lot of fun for violining.

DiMarzio injector set with the Area 61 in the middle. You’ll thank me later 😃

I loved SD STK-2 Hot Stacks in bridge/neck with a Dimarzio HS-3 middle.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if buying the whole pickguard kit would fit right on. I believe it will.. I think an 11 hole is an 11 hole pickguard, USA or MIJ I believe. That would be the easiest route, IMO..

I have been very satisfied with my PlanetTone single coils. Punchy, dynamic, fat. Definitely into them. They are not stacked, but that's all I used to run. I have a DG set and it is great. Idk if it is what you're looking for but they have a ton of options.

I'm leaning towards the Fury's because they seem to keep that Strat sound and have great clarity. I want to pull off some metal tones too, but don't want to kill the Strat vibe.

What guitar is that?

Anderson SA1 are thick, they have a few different stacked single coil that don’t disappoint.

I've been thinking about a Duncan YJM bridge model for the bridge, and the DiMarzio HS-3's in the neck and middle positions OR Duncan YJM bridge model for the bridge, combined with Duncan Vintage Rails in the neck and middle. I have all those pickups on my shelf, now all I've gotta do is order a pickguard.

If hum-less single coils is what you're after, I highly recommend an Ilitch noise cancelling system.

I have the pick guard version for my tele and it's dead silent, even with high gain.

That's the absolute best solution for noise if you want to use single coils, because they do sound different than stacks. I've yet to hear a great stack pickup that sounds as good as a great single coil pickup. Scott Henderson uses the Suhr version that of system in his guitars and I can't argue with the sounds he gets!

Noiseless is part of the equation, yes. But a little more muscle too. Preferably in a not too out of control stacked single coil/humbucker

This is basically the Injector set I recommended above. The neck and bridge have far more output than a classic Strat pickup but it's not out of control. Think somewhere around P-90 type power but that sounds like a Strat pickup. The Area 61 in the middle position is also a very smart choice because it allows positions 2 and 4 to retain the brighter classic Strat quack, and you also have the option to get a more classic single coil sound in the 3 position. You can hear them in action here (modern tones)...

Tone 6 is the most neck pickup classic "Stratty" (4:38)

Check out the Bare Knuckle Pickups Piledriver.

High output tele single coil. Tight low end and meatier, but definitely still has tele twang. I have one in my tele (with the Ilitch) and use it for a mix of hard rock/chugs/spaghetti western.

They have some decent sound samples on their site.

Man, I'm kinda digging the stock pickups! They're hot, but quiet. No hum in any position, and spanky. They sound killer through my Engl. They sound like single coils, but take high gain like a champ. They're just Japanese made "Vintage Style" single coils.
