Hurricane Milton looks like it will hit Tampa area super hard. Get the fuck out while you can! If you get all the way north of Atlanta I have room.
If you can, it’s probably already gridlock.Get the fuck out while you can!
ProbablyIf you can, it’s probably already gridlock.
I know someone from up north who moved to Tampa and they're going to ride it out. Helene didn't hit their house so I guess they feel more confident.Best of luck all!
Didn't check today but yesterday they were saying this hurricane has one of the lowest air pressure readings at center in recorded history. 89x something millibars I forget.
My parents live in Tampa (Largo actually) but they are 1.5 miles inland and at 43ft off sea level. They feel they will be OK. We'll see. I volunteered to come down and help after Helene and they told me to stay the fuck away. I have a feeling I will be down there in the next 2 weeks or so regardless.
My brother in law and his family moved to Ft Meyers several years ago and dealt with that last hurricane 2 years ago. They moved back to Illinois this year. I bet they are glad they did.
it's been gridlock since yesterday. I'm 4 hours south of Tampa but have lots of friends in that area & it took a friend of mine 10 hours to get to Georgia. If you can, it’s probably already gridlock.
I've ridden out a few hurricanes here, including two Cat 4 - with 12' storm surge, none that were coming directly at us.I know someone from up north who moved to Tampa and they're going to ride it out. Helene didn't hit their house so I guess they feel more confident.
Living in Florida can let you get complacent because there are a lot of scares and false alarms that turn out to be just heavy thunderstorms and a short power outage.I know someone from up north who moved to Tampa and they're going to ride it out. Probably. This is new for them though.Living in Florida can let you get complacent because there are a lot of scares and false alarms that turn out to be just heavy thunderstorms and a short power outage.
But these things can be beasts if you’re in the wrong place. I mean relentless unforgiving beasts. In the Tampa area, Helene was nothing compared to this.
I think a lot of people 'felt' Helene and then also do not have a lot of direct experience with hurricanes - and are hence more confident.I know someone from up north who moved to Tampa and they're going to ride it out. Helene didn't hit their house so I guess they feel more confident.
