Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard- RackSystems

Dave, can you tell me what you're using to step the 18v outlets down to 9v as I too have run out of 9v outlets on my MC403 power supply!

Here's Steve's new pedalboard. We just got back from Steve's rehearsal spot and he's very pleased.

Signal Path:
Guitar-RJM Buffer(brand new product)-splits to tuner and other side to Vol Pedal-Wah-Grace Compressor-Providence Anadime Chorus-Strymon Lex-Custom built interface(under the delays)-Amp IN (Bogner Ecstacy).

AMP Send-Interface-MXR Smart Gate-Benrod Wave Pedal-Strymon Blue Sky-Custom switcher box (3 outs)
1-dry-RJM Mixer
Switched Out-Hardwire Delay 1-returns in stereo the RJM Line Mixer
Switched Out 2- Hardwire Delay 2-Returns in stereo to RJM Mixer
RJM L/R-Bogner Amp(s) returns.

Hardwire delays are modified for KILLDRY.
These delays sound like a million bucks!! Very fat sounding.

Switcher functions are for Delay 1/2 In/Out, Bogner Amp channels and a Marshall channel switching capability in case a rental amp is used.

Mark says Steve sounds amazing through this rig. What a great player!

Are his XTC's stock? How is is runnnig them?

Hello, is it easy to say some words about his bogners' other switches settings? for example: N,B1, B2 ?... L,T,M excursion switches??? or some about master volume behind, mix if they are used...thank you in advance!!!

Hey Dave,

The switched output box that is feeding the dry out and two delays, is that passive or is there a active circuit to prevent ground loops and loading of the signal? I'd like to do the same thing and MXR makes a switched out A/B box with a pass thru out that's passive, would that work? There would be no other effects running before the switched out box and delays, they would be the only things running either after a line out box in a W/D(W) or in the effects loop, if that info means anything.

Any help would be great,
Thanks
John

Hi Dave,

Very impressed with this board...beautiful simplicity. I have a couple of questions about the custom switch box you made: Does it allow the delays to be used simultaneously, or in an A/B format? My guess is that your use of separate buttons allows for concurrent use. Likewise, does the dry feed run continuously, allowing for the mixer to blend, or does it switch off when you activate the delays?

Thanks!

Jeff Clark

Interesting. Is it like a loop circuit with sends only, or does the signal split before the switches? I can't seem to find an equivalent schematic.

This is what the rig looked like this past Friday in Atlanta.
Luke and I rap about gear a lot and his love for this board is genuine.

Now i am trying to figure out how I can switch between a Marshall JCM800, a Soldano SLO 100 and my SR&D Rockman rig and have a similar layout!!!
Each has its own 'board' and it makes for a messy floor in front of you.

Hello Dave, me too want to know more about the converted Bogner footswitch, is it too much if asking for the scheme?

what is the white pedal between delay boss and strymon bluesky ?
thanks

Great work Dave! So Steve's running pedals up front in amp one input, using amp one's effects loop to delays, then running one of the stereo outs of delays to the 2nd amps effects loop return for stereo huh? Of course going through all the interfaces and buffers too. Just curious cause I started running my rig in stereo like that few months ago and love it so much. I simply run a Mobius, Timeline, HOF, and WET all connected in stereo in the BE100 loop, and take the WETs stereo out to a 20th Shiva effects loop Return. So thats pretty much using my BE preamp and both power amps from BE & Shiva right?
