Steve. My thoughts? Get out of your comfort zone and commit to the D-Moll. So what if there are some clams or things get weird - what a terrific way to truly get to know the amp. I'm a risk taker though, just sayin.

Do you ever take your amps out of the house? Just wondering?
Not for the last 14 months, no.

Last gig I did was 2 christmases ago (right in that holiday season period of time), and then a few different sessions (jams, goofin' around, playing with different cats in different styles) at different places the following months. After this - I've been in shut in mode.

So you hae probably done some midgets more recently than the last gig?

Bravo to the man that has his priorities right.

It has been 3 months since m last pack up and go to a jam session. And sadly no midget tossing in the interim.

Weak dude, seriously weak....

Midgets aside, I've been asked to come down to accompany my buddy's band on Fridays and Saturdays in the city. He's got a fkn incredible gig, and terrific slot at 2 different places. It's a funk-rock-fusion style of open stage music; kinda along the lines of Zappa with some more rock influence. Both venues are top drawer Vancouver night spots with mega exposure. He's done well - he swaps between bass and sax depending on the music. But honestly? For me to drive my ass down there on a Friday or Saturday with gear-in-car, leave the wife and kids at home, find a place to crash in the city for the 2 nights...

Ya, it's just not made sense to take a bite.

I may do this in the summer providing he's still in these slots. It's an awesome opportunity to get out and also open up some different musical directions. Summers are awesome, one of the venues basically opens up its walls and it spills out onto outdoor patio space of a busy marina/upscale nightclub/shopping area in Vancouver. Pretty fine - and the crowd at 10pm onwards loves the loud

Ah, the penis extension rig......

I couldn't imagine what would pair with the D-Moll. Through a Mesa Recto, it's got so much cool bottom end tracking with it that I may just fire the bass player....

who needs the bass!! (...who needs the drumz!!)

I once spent 2 days debating which amp, cab, pedals etc to use. Just sat there on the floor looking at them and thinking of the combinations! The price we pay for buying so much cool gear :-)

Sometimes I wish I was a player in the 60's when there wasn't as much choice as we have nowadays.

Back in the day, we just hoped the strings on our only guitar would last one more gig....
