What is entailed in stripping a guitar for refinishing that has a burst/dye finish on a maple cap. Strip the poly with chemicals then light sanding to remove the dye of the maple?

I scuff the body all over with rough sandpaper, then hit it with aircraft stripper, followed by more sanding with finer paper.

To get the actual finish off, I’ve used heat guns with great success
