In reading his post for the SECOND time it was posted, seems he's looking for less hardware based additives (albeit stomps are mentioned) and more tricks, etc. So, in keeping with the 1 herbert and current speaker ownership program:
1 - clean boost like that of the Mk.4:23 Pro (yes, it's different than the MV and it's the tits)
2 - a very slight delay that adds thickness to the sound really slightly, a good delay unit that's clean and neutral and programmable
3 - a touch of, yes, you heard me correctly, REVERB
That's it. Sure, heavier gauge strings, a properly set up ax, good onboard electronics (on the ax), decent clean and neutral cables, the usual song and dance. How long is your ax to amp cable? If it's over 30 feet, cut 'er down to 15 or 18 feet.
